Spa Rally ?

Okay, I have this idea for a rally and would like some suggestions.

Is there a spa that has facilities for the trailers and motorhomes. Is there such a facility in the Northeast? I am looking for a center that offers facials, massage, yoga, hiking... Do you know of any?

Has anyone every hosted a rally like this for WBCCI?

Thumbs up Great idea!

Wow nice idea, I know Sharon GT1963 was mentioning that idea to Rivettes for Canada. I'll bet you can get some women interested! Go for it!

hi pam...

great theme for a rally.

not seen much about resorts/spas with ANY rv parking....

canyon ranch has a spa in lenox mass...

Canyon Ranch Resorts, Lenox, Massachusetts - The Ultimate Healthy Vacation

but it looks like the closest rv park is 20 miles or so...

some of the BIG resort rv parks in the west/southwest have spa amenities...

like massage, accupuncture, facials, pedicures, wraps, mud, hair and nail things, and so on...

these items are available (for a fee) to all the monthly guests...

some even have medical/health clinics on site...

so perhaps there are northeast rv/resort parks where a block of sites could be booked for week or 2 off season...

another option would be to find a nice rv park very near a tourist/spa area...

and arrange 'daytrips' to the facitiy OR

entice the practitioners to make a 'house call' to the rv park...

with a guaranteed number of clients...

cheers

Thumbs up

You might want to look at this website:
http://www.saratoga.com/
I haven't looked at it very carefully but you might want to consider this area.
Saratoga Springs is a beautiful old Victorian town in upstate NY with mineral spas, great shopping and restaurants, and it appears there are some RV parks nearby. If you pursue this further COUNT ME IN!!

Check out some of the high line casinos. A couple of them here on the Mississippi coast had (pre Katrina, now?) highly rated campgrounds, shuttle services, spas and pools.
Beau Rivage - Biloxi Hotel and Casino
Was really nice although I have to admit I have not been down there since they reopened.

Any more thoughts on this rally idea? I'd be willing to help organize it with you. I still lean toward the Sartoga Springs area just north of Albany NY. Lots of things to do there besides spa pampering....races, arts/theater, dining/shopping, etc. Perhaps a "Spring Renewal" theme after the cold winter months?

Another place you may have already considered is Mohegan Sun Hotel Casino & Entertainment - Our Spa Treatments They have "limited" free RV parking and a free dump station IIRC. There are some campgrounds close by but who wants to drive after a full day of beauty?

Towing after a full day of beauty--she tows in beauty? Mistral, FYI we are already beautiful, this is just gilding the lily

I think NY area is cool this sounds fun to me. I'd like to visit Moosewood before or after enhancing my natural born beauty What I'm sayin is I'm not too sure about spa food (I've seen photos of Angelina Jolie's arms and that girl eats spa food), we beautiful women need to eat, unless they're from Hollywood...

Oh Jamie is it too far from Bahston?

Tin Sista - Gilding on the lily . Boy, I've GOT to use that one on Donna the next time she heads out with the ladies for an evening of spa'ing. I'd of never thought to put it quite that way and believe me, I can use all the coaching I can get. After 39 years of marriage I struggle to come up with the right things to say sometimes, if you get my drift. You may have saved me from my bi-weekly-foot-in-the-mouth routine . Why, I can even use the natural born beauty comment. Lots of stuff here for us other-gender folks to learn from.

Wow Mistral - nice place, heck, even I'd go to this place. But I know what you mean about a day of luxurious lounging around and then having to travel somewhere to park or get to the trailer. I agree it would be nice if one were able to just step out of the spa and stroll leisurely down a nice little path to the silver palace, take a couple of glances at oneself in the shiny trailer, and then into the space we all know and love. Hopping in the truck and driving just seems to take away from the whole experience in my mind, but then I'm a guy and what the heck do we know about this stuff anyways. All those lovely ladies radiating enhanced beauty and health heading down the road to a campground, they'd better be careful....

Does anyone do a similar thing like this on the west coast? If so I'd mention it to Donna. Now that she's the primary driver/tower she may just consider it. Leave me at home to fend for myself and go camping - something she's never done on her own. I suspect just the leaving me at home part itself would make for a wonderful weekend for her.

Barry

Oh come on Barry, are you saying you wouldn't partake in the spa amenities too? Think how much more fun you'd have working on your Pontiac with beautifully manicured nails.

Exactly! You understand perfectly Mel. I'd look like super dork at the spa and even worse at home. Now, if it were a weight loss spa I could be their "before" poster child. If it's an "after" they are looking for, well, that would have been me 39 years ago before I found out Donna could cook.

Oh, and far be it from me to ever suggest that Donna needs to go to a spa. I had best make that one clear right now, in my humble opinion I do not believe that any of the ladies who are Airstreamers actually need, in any way, to go to a spa for anything but a slight touch up and even in some cases to set an example for those poor SOB owners who clearly need all the spa treatment they can get.

How'd I do? Suck up enough to get me out of trouble? I'm trying.....

Barry

Hot Springs?

In the West we have several hot springs that may sway my West AS friends. Of course there is Calistoga in the Napa Valley area. Grover State Park Hot Springs south of Tahoe and then there are some not far from there in Nevada. Camping I am not sure of except for Grover. I know there is a campground there. Winter in a hot spring is great! Except when you have to get up and out.

I sooo love this idea! We have lots of natural hot springs out west. Some with RV parks attached.
here is a decent resource.
Spas at SpaFinder - Vacation, Day, Medical Spa, Massage, Facial, Pedicure, Manicure, Luxury SpaFinder Magazine
do we get a spa for the airstream too?

I'm in for a Spa Rally!!

oooooeeee I have spent too long away from the forums - looky hear someone with great minds thinking on the same wave length - before I am 50 I want to get to a spa!!! to do that cucumber, mud and stone thing....hey and for the Barry's and Mel's of the world have you ever heard of the Roman Bath Houses...maybe we could find a dual event

Seriously - I had mentioned the idea for a Rivette Rally. But what I had in mind was getting to a nice RV Campground in the vicinity of a spa - we would get the limo treatment and be dropped off at the spa for a day and brought back to our sites.

The other take on it was a week caravan - to travel to several spas - I also thought it would be cool to do a winery loop as well. But we would have to do a day on and a day off - cause I know I would get stopped sampling and then I would be in real trouble....

Hey Michelle that is also a very neat idea - instead of a working Rally we could call our girly rallies the Airstream Spa Rally

Anyway - you can count me in - ANYWHERE - if I have the gas money I will be there....

If anyone is interested in the Canadian side I can certainly look some places up - Eastern Ontario (Kingston - Ottawa) - Niagara Region and/or the SouthWest Ontario area where the famous Stratford Fesitval runs...and along the shores of Lake Erie - i.e Point Pelee (great birding).
