Planning to leave this evening around 5:30 PM. We'll be traveling with another vintage owner with an (SOB) from the early 70's. We'll have some cool pictures to post when we return on Sunday.

The rainy weather held off for the biggest part of the weekend to allow for great camping. Units in attendance were from as far away as Panama City, FL, Fayetteville, NC and upstate, WI. Many other states were represented as well. There were 4 Airstream trailers, 1 Argosy trailer, 2 Classic AS motor homes, 4 Silver Streak trailers as well as some really neat "canned ham style" trailers. Shasta and Serro Scotty were well represented as well as, Garway, Holiday Hut, Field and Stream, and Aljoa. Also attending was a Beck Bus and it's owner, Ron. It was a 1956 model 35 footer. It was not built for public transport. It was a custom touring coach with full living room, huge kitchen with lots of counterspace, a walk in shower, and large rear bedroom. This unit had a factory installed skylight in the hallway, and a panoramic window in the upper level. It was powered by a huge Cummins Diesel engine.
Saturday evening we enjoyed a great potluck meal. The campground owner provided the Pork BBQ, the baked beans, and taters. The other dishes were prepared by our rally attendees. After the meal, we watched the Long, Long, Trailer in the clubhouse and enjoyed desserts, popcorn, and coffee.
The owner of the Misty River Campground plans to make this an annual event.

Kevin, it sounds like y'all had a great time. Since it may be a go next year, maybe I can attend then if my schedule permits.

I'll definitely keep everyone informed of the fall rally. I am going to co-ordinate with the campground owner so the fall rally will be a different date than Falluminum.

This bus was a treat. The interior is mostly original. It has upholstered, padded ceilings of "naugahyde". Spacious lounge, roomy kitchen, abundant wardrobes, walk-in shower in bath, and private rear bedroom.

We had a great time in spite of the rain and cooler weather. We really enjoyed seeing all the neat vintage trailers both restored and original. Next time we will make provisions to stay for more than the day, AND we'll bring our vintage trailer. I hope that the campground owner will make this an annual event.
