If anyone is interested, this rally will go on as planned. If you can't get a spot at Springstream, come over to the TN Vintage rally. I'll definitely miss seeing my friends at Springstream this year. Have a great rally and maybe I'll see you at Falluminum. (what weekend is that this year?)

For all you fly fisherman, that is the same weekend as Troutfest in Townsend, TN, which is at the southwest entrance to the park, far away from all the neon and trash of Pigeon Forge. It's a great festival of flyfishing, with vendors, seminars, demonstrations, etc., sponsored by the Little River chapter of Trout Unlimited. Below is a link:

We were also there for the East Tennessee Unit Rally this past weekend. What a great bunch of folks. Ask any of them about Flamingo's and Gecko's and you'll get an earfull about our un-birthday event.

The setting is very nice. the CG was spotless, People were friendly.
We only wish there had been more trees in the camp area but that is very minor.

Checked with the camp this morning and at least 30 campsites are reserved for this vintage rally. I have heard from owners of Airstream, Argosy, Avion, Silver Streak, Shasta, Spartan, Volunteer, and Lil Guy. This is sure to be a rally with something for everyone. I am looking forward to being there.

Planning to leave this evening around 5:30 PM. We'll be traveling with another vintage owner with an (SOB) from the early 70's. We'll have some cool pictures to post when we return on Sunday.

Fun in the Smokys

The rainy weather held off for the biggest part of the weekend to allow for great camping. Units in attendance were from as far away as Panama City, FL, Fayetteville, NC and upstate, WI. Many other states were represented as well. There were 4 Airstream trailers, 1 Argosy trailer, 2 Classic AS motor homes, 4 Silver Streak trailers as well as some really neat "canned ham style" trailers. Shasta and Serro Scotty were well represented as well as, Garway, Holiday Hut, Field and Stream, and Aljoa. Also attending was a Beck Bus and it's owner, Ron. It was a 1956 model 35 footer. It was not built for public transport. It was a custom touring coach with full living room, huge kitchen with lots of counterspace, a walk in shower, and large rear bedroom. This unit had a factory installed skylight in the hallway, and a panoramic window in the upper level. It was powered by a huge Cummins Diesel engine.
Saturday evening we enjoyed a great potluck meal. The campground owner provided the Pork BBQ, the baked beans, and taters. The other dishes were prepared by our rally attendees. After the meal, we watched the Long, Long, Trailer in the clubhouse and enjoyed desserts, popcorn, and coffee.
The owner of the Misty River Campground plans to make this an annual event.

A good group of vintage . .

Kevin, it sounds like y'all had a great time. Since it may be a go next year, maybe I can attend then if my schedule permits.

Hey Kevin,

It was good seeing you yesterday. Let us know the date if there's a follow-up rally this Fall.

I'll definitely keep everyone informed of the fall rally. I am going to co-ordinate with the campground owner so the fall rally will be a different date than Falluminum.

1956 Beck Bus 35 Foot

This bus was a treat. The interior is mostly original. It has upholstered, padded ceilings of "naugahyde". Spacious lounge, roomy kitchen, abundant wardrobes, walk-in shower in bath, and private rear bedroom.
