We showed the Airstream colors last weekend, but only spotted one other Airstreamer, a smallish squarestream travelling north on I-89 south of the Richmond, VT exit on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11:45am. Anyone from here?
Traveled from Burlington, VT area into the Northeast Kingdom where we enjoyed peak fall colors! Stayed at Brighton State Park near Island Pond, VT. No hookups in Vermont parks, but Brighton has a real nice setting on Spectacle Pond, and is within a few miles of the larger Island Pond. Here's a photo, several campsites are situated along the shoreline. A few more photos are in the travel folder of our photo section. Colors in the Kingdom were great, but here in north-central Vermont peak will probably arrive in another week.

We Showed America Our Airstream!
We did manage to get out for the Show America Your Airstream weekend...we went to Bisbee, Arizona... Here's a link to our travel thread for more details:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...tml#post462141 (the weekend's activities begin with post #7)
We only saw two Airstreams on the road...the folks we ran into at The Shady Dell (see the link) and an older AS heading east on I-10 just as we were getting into the eastern outskirts of Tucson on our way home... We did see several along the way in parks, etc...an Argosy in an RV park in Benson, AZ...an Avion in a trailer park in Tombstone, AZ...an older AS in a field south of Bisbee...and one in Sunsite, AZ in a yard...the glint of aluminum always gets us excited!
We were disappointed that the roads we traveled weren't cram-packed with Airstreams, but if the word gets out soon enought for the NEXT Airstream weekend, perhpas we will see more of us on the road... No reason there can't be more than one "AS Weekend" a year, right?
Silver Trails!

Here's a shot from our outing last weekend. We made it with some buddies we have not camped with in years.

Hi Everyone,
Our Cape Cod Unit was out this weekend for our final rally of the season.
We had 11 Airstreams at our rally held at the Beach Rose Campground in Salisbury, MA. They were from all over New England and 1 unit from Nova Scotia.

So is Columbus Day Weekend the official weekend? If so, we were showing our colors coming back from the Beverly Beach Bash. Oregon coast to Sacramento.

I know the Nova Scotian... it's my president and treasurer...
I wanted to come but my plan send me to British Columbia and it would have been to late to cross Canada later.
Have you seen Sherly and Eugene they were suppose to come. They are also from the Canadian Atlantic Unit.

The thought was to try this weekend to see if it would work for the majority of people. There's no reason why there couldn't be a spring and a fall one if that better suits the need. Although a lot of rigs were out with their "keepers" I suspect that the rotten weather in various locations, such as the PNW, kept a lot of rigs under cover.
Glad to know you were out showing the SOB's and the rest of the traveling public what a REAL trailer looks like.

We're busy helping our daughter move this weekend, but we're heading out in Gypsy the weekend of Oct 23-26 to Bennett Springs State Park here in Missouri. We'll be meeting another daughter and her friends, enjoying fall color in the Ozarks, and casting our lines into that beautiful trout water! This will be Gypsy's fall fling. Then she rests until New Year's when we'll head out (Jan 4-16) to John Pennekamp State Park on Key Largo, Fla, maybe passing by the early Can Opener Jan 1-3. We love having her on the road, advertising great travel and camping the Airstream way! ~G

We were out this past weekend at Camden Hills State Park in Maine! I didn't see any other Airstreams - but while touring the Owls Head Transportation Museum I was pleased to see several Airstream books in the gift shop. I added "Airstream Living" by Bruce Littlefield to my collection. An antique Airstream - say '40's vintage - would be a great addition to this museum! Although we had a damp Sunday evening we still managed a beautiful fire late each afternoon and into the night. Temperatures ranged from the low 50's to the mid 60's - great weather to be out and about with the Airstream.

The Dear Mrs. HiHo had some pretty major surgery earlier this week so we won't be out this weekend (or any other in the next few weeks). The meds have her pretty much claiming the entire bed so I may just utilize Epiphany as a Man Cave tonight...
