We took a ride today to check this campground again, and it is SWEET! It was full house and it still looked cozy.

There is a boat launch just outside the campground, to go kayaking or canoeing/fishing on Point Judith Pond. The water doesn't look too deep, as we saw someone wading up to their waist in the water quite a distance from shore. We plan to bring our canoe to paddle around the pond Friday morning before everyone arrives. So early arrivers bring your canoe/kayak and join us.

There is a swing set, slides & play area for the kids.

It really is a quaint area.....and we are getting very excited to spend a weekend there with all of our friends.

Got Bikes!

I just purchased a couple of 6 speed folding bikes from CampingWorld - looking forward to using them at this get together!

And I'll be able to add RI to my U.S. Map that is displayed on the inside of our Airstream's door. Yippee!!

Hey Robin, glad to see you are joining us! There are still plenty of sites in Section 2. Hope you mentioned the "Ahmed party", so they park you next to the group.

Non-Resident

I happened to look at your rally invite to the state park. When I lived in Ct. we use to camp there and it truly is a great park and being so close to the ferry makes it even more special. But, I was surprised to see that R.I. really charges the non-residents to camp there. I wonder why?? It sure does not promote tourism in R.I. Do you know the reason why?
Have a great rally!!! You really should if the weather is great.

It's basic economics, supply & demand. This place is a hot spot in RI, and difficult to book a site between Memorial Day thru Labor Day without booking months in advance. I've never camped yet at a campground with full hookup, drive thru sites and extremely clean "for free". CNN Travel named coastal RI one of the top 10 best places to visit. Anything desirable has a price tag on it.

As Gail says above this campground is in high demand. Local RI folks should pay a bit less as their state taxes help fund the park. I for one am happy to pay the out of state rate to spend time with good friends.

Register Now Upon Arrival

For those of you still interested in attending, DON'T SEND APPLICATION IN as it has to be mailed 2 weeks in advance. You can register upon arrival, first come first serve. There are plenty of sites still available in Section 2, and the campground is not full this time of year. So.............come join the fun!

Same reason Texas charges out of state student more to attend their state schools. Your tax dollars at work... or play....

I'm really trying to controll myself here but looking at the map I think I have electric, water, and sewer. First time this year. I am so excited and the Chief of All Things Great and Small can stay in the shower for as long as she wants to.

PS... We really like Tuscan Lamb....

There is clamming at Point Judith Pond behind the campground. Bring your buckets and boots.

So........is everyone as excited as we are about next weekend?

We took a drive to Fishermen's today, and what a great place! Everyone appeared to be having a great time. Some folks were clamming, others were returning from fishing trips, kids were riding their bikes around the asphalt paved campground.

And soon......... the shiny Tin Cans will be arriving in 5 more days.

Thumbs up I'm really looking forward to this weekend's adventure

New friends and old - a non-WBCCI Airstream adventure hosted by our best Airstreaming buddies.

Leon and I plan to head out by mid afternoon on Friday. I'm currently out of the New England area on business but am cutting my trip short so that we can attend. There is *no way* I'd miss this event!

We are bringing our folding bikes (cheap ones from CampingWorld). Hope our bums survive the Block Island bike trip.
