Everybody---- Please do not feel compelled to bring any firewood. We certainly do not want to get involved in any insurance claims or legal issues.

Regards,

Titu.

State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

Department of Environmental Management
Park and Management Area
Rules and Regulations

Section 12

Fires
12.1 No person shall kindle an open fire, including charcoal fires, except in designated areas or with official written permission. From March 15 through May 15, no open fires are allowed between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM without burning permit issued by local fire department.

Section 13

Food, Beverages, Vending
13.1 No person shall possess, drink, sell or offer for sale any alcoholic beverages

__________________________________________________ ______________

Firewood: The RI Department of Environmental Management urges all visitors to RI Campgrounds and Parks to help STOP THE SPREAD of nonnative insects and diseases. Transporting firewood can also transport a number of insects and diseases that threaten the health of our forests. Gypsy moth, emerald ash borer, and beech bark disease are just a few of the growing number of firewood hitchhikers that can kill large numbers of trees.

You can help by following these simple precautions:
·Do not bring firewood with you when you camp.
·Buy firewood when you reach your destination.
·Don’t take any with you when you leave. Burn it all or give it to other campers in the park.

Sections 12 and 13 are the law. Max fine is a $100. I will bring my ATM card just in case any other rally attendees are unaware of the consequences.

The rest is merely a request.

Which begs the question: Are they really worried about a forest at Fisherman's?

Packed and ready .... almost!

We still have a few final items to pick up at the store tomorrow - early! -, stop to fill for propane and fuel and we are on our way! Yippeeeeeeeee!

Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting our newest friends!

I have my watercolor painting supplies, Pam, and anyone else who wishes to paint. I am going to need all the help I can get!

See you all tomorrow!

We are all packed as well. Gotta work tomorrow though. Hopefully traffic won't be a nightmare ... I burned out the printer at work today making 45 copies of a songbook with extra big lettering. Don't forget to bring your musical instruments and/or singing voices! Hopefully you'll like one or two of the songs.

The Tube is out of her barn and up next to the house

And my fellow NEU members know how weird I am about keeping "The Tube" under cover.

But, the weather is fine tonight, no storms (hail) in the forecast so she is plugged into the 30amp service on the side of our house. I'll finish loading her up tomorrow morning between conference calls and project management work, which pays for our NEU adventures.

We are both very excited to see everyone. Such a big rally! I know many talented folks will be playing and singing around the campfire, even if we do need to purchase the wood locally.

Wish it was me! We'll be down this evening as we are leaving at 4:00pm and it's a 3 hour tow for us. Save some food.

Food

WOW, what a great spread. The voting went in favor of everything and Gail & Titu didn't let us down. Plenty of hands on deck to help with all the cooking.

Thank you to the hosts Gail, Titu, Tianna, Michelle and Leon for all your hard work. The rally was a lot of fun. Special thanks to the P's for the delicious stuffies and chowder. Thanks to Gus for the harmonica lesson. I think I am almost ready to join the jam sessions by the fire. Watch out Mrs. Mistral!
