Second Annual Birthday Bash 2011
I know a number of you have been wondering if we would do it again, and we are glad to say: "FOR SURE"
The Second Annual Birthday Bash is going to be held June 30- July 5 In Western Pennsylvania. We have chosen to have the Bash a little further West this year so that it is easier for some of you to make it. We have also chosen an old fashion family owned campground so that more infrastructure is in place. This means that showers, flush toilets, a General store, rally water, and some limited electric will be available. Though our area does not have full hook ups, they can be gotten just up the hill from where we will be holding the Bash. The campground is called Coopers Lake Campground and is in Slippery Rock Pa. We have a deal on the entire area surrounding the Lake in this photo taken by Ace, one of your hosts.
There are no assigned sites in this area and we will have control over the entire area. There are open grassy areas and shady wooded areas.
We are still working on the budget for the rally fee. I can promise you it will be as cheap as we can make it, but we still need to cover the entertainment, daily breakfasts, and big dinner we are planning. Coopers Lake will charge you $10/ adult per day. Kids under 18 are free(as all TAC events should be) Coopers will collect that from you when you arrive and tell them how many days you intend to stay. We encourage all grandparents to take advantage of this and bring the Grand kids along. Many did at last years Bash, and you should do it again.
Registration for this event will start soon. There is a lot to work out before we can launch into registering people. Please be patient with us. We wanted to give people a heads up for the dates now even though we are not ready to register people.
This year we will limit the number to 115. Mr. Byam would be 115 this year and the whole point of the Bash is to celebrate his Birthday.
Mark your calendars now!!!!

Even closer to you Jason....
I wanted to add that this year we are going to rely on more volunteerism. We really want to keep the cost down by having more contributions by individuals to the common good. Keep in mind if everyone does a little the whole group benefits tremendously. There will be more on this later and how you can do your part.

We stayed at Coopers Lake a few years ago, If I remember right there are only 12 spots with water, sewer and electric, but the rest of the camp grounds is wonderful, rolling hills, lakes, trees.. They hold many events at that campground, civil war reenactments, etc.. Great location!

Yay! We loved the Bash and are looking forward to V2.0. (It's a slog out Route 80, true, but the new tow vehicle's CD player can now play VAP MP3 CDs...)
Appreciate the early heads up as we budget limited vacation time (so many trips, so little time).

There are full hook ups up the hill in the regular camping area. That area is not in the same place as we will be, but also not too far away. We do have some access to electric, but it will be very limited. The idea is to give electric to those with medical needs. We are planning for a generator area and a boon dock only area. As last year, being self contained is our goal. Water is available all the way around the lake, so we plan to get rally water to every rig we can. This is not a camping resort. It is a family run, old fashion campground.
Everything will be done by your Hosts to make this a tremendous experience.

Wow "The Cat Is Out Of The Bag." The Coopers are very pleased that we have chosen their campground. I am sure they will be rolling out "The Red Carpet" for us. They have a very well stocked store. The campground is located only 2 miles off exit 99, off Int 79, about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh. Bring your bikes and boats and swimming gear. They don't have a pool but there is a swimming hole. I'm very proud to be a member of TAC and to have been asked to be one of the hosts for BASH II.

The campground looks beautiful, guys. I will begin working on the wife to see if we can make it. I know of at least one other Austin area 'Streamer who would caravan up with me.

WOW, only 9 months and 29 days until BASH II
OK, I have to admit I laid back and let the great volunteers who did all the work carry the load at the 1st Bash.
I promise to volunteer to help with the 2nd Bash, breakfast, parking, cleanup, whatever, I'll be ready to do my part.

This is great news and sounds like a great area to have it. We will be there in full force. I only wonder if I could possibly get a full restore on the 53 Cruiser done by then. I love a challenge. If not the Shiny Argosy will be there. Can wait to see everyone again.
