Woopee, dogs are in so furry Nicklaus is going so I will be tagging along with the California wine. Thanks for your negotiation skills, Rollerboy ! I've been planning on spending some time in the UP this summer so this is perfect.

Hey Rollerboy, What do you think about having your rally in the spring and we all could hunt mushrooms. You could call it the Shromming Rally.

Spring is so iffy as to hunting shrooms, give me an idea people ! what dates work for you , the campground owners are talking about having two rallies a year, one early in the season, one later in season, dates please ???

What do you guys call spring in the north country? For me in CA., spring is Mar, April & first of June. I will be in Utah in May. I would enjoy being in the UP when it is warm. Last time I was in MN in early June there was still ice circling the lakes.

In MI, Spring officially starts March 21 & ends June 21, when Summer officially begins. Ice on the lakes has nothing to do with it
Our choice for a rally date is any time in August. Are the campground owners wanting to have the date after (or before) the peak summer season? If so, early October is prime color in the area. Just a thought.

I came through Gaylord this afternoon on the way home from the U.P., and there wasn't anyone swimming today, either ... (and it was unseasonably warm today, also ...) - there's something going on about this swimming thing.

But generally there is one big advantage to "off-season" rallies up in the northland; beer inadvartently left sitting around outside stays chilly!

Dowpells, We have the same calender dates for "spring" here in CA. I was just trying to joke that ice isn't fun for swimming when June was mentioned. VBG. I'm originally from MN but I still don't like to camp in ice & snow and try to avoid it whenever possible. (-: Just wondering when you can count on it being warm there but I am open for anytime. I do want to spend time sightseeing in the area and looking forward to hearing recommendation from locals.

I looked at the camp grounds web site today. It is a very nice looking place. One question - if 30 to 50 Airstreams show up is the camp ground big enough? Not many sites on their map. Almost anytime will be good for us...Tim

Campground is Headwaters? What about AIRhead Rally?
Do you have a date yet. Just found out we are committed for July 23-24th weekend.

If dogs are in, I only have to convince my wife, which should not be difficult with a Rally name like Beers and Bears. She doesn't like bears, but would fight a bear for a beer if she had to.
