If drew doesn't steal it for his sailing cruise, I'll bring my camera.

Kind of amazing that with all the axle talk, it's kind of hard to see good pictures. Perhaps we can write up a comprehensive "how to"?

MY MY if ya got paint on the carpet and your pants Now that Axle was fresh right out of the factory. Good luck Dan.Im sure it will be fine. All ya have to do is LISTEN to the MAN FROM Lagrange he knows what he is doin. He has done much bigger and heavier projects than that.
When I picked up our axles the paint could have been wet but they wouldnt let me touch em. They set them on with a towmotor as a pair already banded together. After the trip home I set em off with a engine crane and a strap,so they could have been wet when I pick em up and air dried on the way home.
You should not have a problem. HEY Dan are ya gonna be next to me at Milan again this yr???. Just curious. I think we have 22.
Glad you are gonna be ready.IM ready NOW.
Roger

Well I only gave the shop about 7 days lead time, so it wouldn't suprise me if the paint was wet! Actually I think the problem was the near 100 degree heat.

I think Larry already has his tourch warmed up! Looking forward to Saturday.

Brooke and I are taking three weeks next month, 03-21 August, to take the kids to Colorado Springs and see Sherri's parents...they haven't seen them, since Sherri died. We decided to finally take our honeymoon and stay at the Golden Eagle Ranch Campground, next to Ft. Carson, that way we're no more than 10 minutes away from the kids, in case something happens.

Axle

Dan and Larry got the axle installed on Dan's trailer today. I am sure that Dan was documenting and took pictures. I think he will start a thread on that soon. Meanwhile, we had a great time at dinner, and Dawn and I had a "six butterfly" evening..crafting away. Hope all of you had a great Saturday too.

Well that "4 hour job" turned into about 7, but that included a great dinner!

We will just say that it wasn't exactly a "direct bolt on axle". We had a couple of hickups, but nothing terrible.

The longest part was transfering the shock brackets over.

I'll be posting a complete thread tommorrow with pics.

Thanks again Larry & Lou!

I knew you picked the right man for the job. As I told ya he has had to handle alot worse in his trucking career. Have him tell ya about the Clutches and Tannys and Rear ends and springs sometime. I'm glad you have it done. I will make no comment about your axle, other than ,I just don't know why other manufacturers can not seem to get things exactly rite when it comes to retro-fitting Airstream. Its not really Rocket science. I'm sure they are all good axles or they wouldn't be on the market or even be in business with things the way they are today.
I still wanna see it Dan ,See ya at Milan.
