Hi everyone,
just wanted to let you know i, my mom and the "boys" will be in #10. we will be driving up to see you from our spot . not sure what we will be bringing to the potluck. my mom promised to make something as an exchange for bringing her . i'm not sure if that was a good deal or not .
Our work week is shaping up to be a real pain in the a##, if it keeps up, we may be down there tomorrow.......my momma always told me that "if you can't handle the heat in the kitchen, burn it down"....
just saying,
time
Soooo...are you reallyreally arriving earlyearly?
I think I'm probably showing up Thursday but am leaving open the possibility of extending to Monday night and leaving Tuesday morning...maybe.
Just thinking in advance about the usual rally cry of
"awww I'm not ready to go home yet..."

3317 S. El Camino Real, San Clemente, 949-498-6280.
The sheriff's phone number is taped to the back of the phone behind the bar. Pabst Blue Ribbon is on tap. The bartender – in fishnets and a black skirt no bigger than a bar towel – can beat you at pool.
Welcome to Big Helyn's – the first bar or the last bar (depending on which way you are going) in Orange County.
It's dark, it's loud, it's out-of-the-way. There are dartboards and pool and "Golden Tee."
It's a classic roadhouse where bikers, Marines, surfers and locals drink pitcher after pitcher while listening to Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, 50 Cent, Aerosmith and Gin Blossoms.
And tabletops turn into dance floors for women on Saturday night when Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" plays.

Although Big Helyn's is known around San Clemente as a biker bar, one shouldn't automatically assume that you have to own a Harley or a leather vest to gain entrance (or at the very least acceptance) here. The roadhouse takes in all visitors with open arms, and even the local surfers outnumber the motorbike enthusiasts at times. Like most roadhouses, Big Helyn's has all the trappings one looks for in a bar: a well-stocked jukebox filled with American classics (think songs from the Doors, the Eagles and the Steve Miller Band), a couple of pool tables with cigarette burns and colorful characters who seem to have as many stories to tell as hours on their hands to spend in the bar. The fact that one can enjoy a few mugs of beer and still have money left over for the jukebox is an added bonus for those on a beach bum's budget.
Kev,
Sounds like field trip is a must. Should I bring quarters?

You may need to bring dollar bills
just in case certain people start dancing on the tables.
You can never be too prepared.
Just sayin'...
Wanted all to know that Thelma has moved up to fives, tens and twentys, just in case she ends up on the tables in Big Helyns.

This time I have a committment on Tuesday, in SLO. If you stay, who will I caravan with? I thought with my 300 horsepower and no trailer I may be able to keep up with you. Ron
