space still available

Notreallyarallyrally site available!

For those of you who either do or don't have a reservation:

Site #85 (up to 24 feet, maybe 25) at San Clemente State Beach is available for anyone wishing to either relocate or come to the rally. It has been reserved for Friday and Saturday nights, Feb 1 and Feb 2 and can be extended at this time. It is right next to the main gathering (Party Central, just over the bushes) on the bluff overlooking the ocean.

If you want it see the Times at site #82.

See you all at the NRRR.

Nice time

Lynn and I thank everyone for the nice NRRR. The company was good, and as for the food, well, I think I hurt myself.

Here is the link to the "American Pie Story" video I was talking about last night. I think it's kind of cool, not totally accurate, as shown in some of the comments, but still kind of cool.

Thanks again, Lynn and Jim

Hi all: What a greattttttttttt time Sherry and I are grateful to all for the spirited company and steady warmth of people, food and drinks.

Kev, thanks for stainless steel bottle opener and for your enlightenment about being "legal" Kim and Chris, congrats on firstplace in your stunning outfit !!!!, as your bring the idea of a tourista to a new level HA HA!, and whoever made those steaks, geeez, but we lost the A 1 steak sauce.

The trip home to the Seal Beach area Sunday am was horrid, but we are home safe and sound as we trust you are all as well.

See everyone soon.

Just left 4 "hanger oners"

staying another night in the park. The weather this am was beautiful....SUN, light breeze. As opposed to superbowl Sunday where your life was in danger commuting between trailers!! Ron just hit the road for a meeting in SLO and does not know if he will have WiFi there or not. If he does there will be more pics posted soon, if not it will be on Thursday sometime. When we left there was a container that held a bloody mary entry and a large bottle of A-1 in the lost and found.

It was great meeting all the "new to us" folks and seeing some of the trailers, especially hearing the story of WBCCI #79 ( and seeing some original edition Blue Berets!). We were favored with good weather for the potluck and had a fun time watching all the kids play.

We spoke to some people about our April Baja trip. If anyone is interested in joining us in San Felipe, Baja ........ we are going to a Blues Fiesta and art festival on April 19th. We will be at a campground on the beach, walking distance to the festival about 3/4 mile north of town. We have 3 trailers and one MoHo going at this time. Its a small park and we are trying to book all the spots closest to the beach. PM us if you want more details. See ya at the next rally. Debbie

perhaps a vocabulary faux pas.....

it would be "hanger oners"......that is the people who were fortunate enough to stay one more day!! The people who remained are more the tequila types.

San Felipe fiesta

We are building a house in the city of San Felipe which is where the fiesta is being held. We have travelled in Baja many times and have enjoyed all the trips. Actually, on our first trip in the AS Moho we lost a bolt on the alternator and lost all the belts. We had the belts on board but not a bolt. A car of Federales stopped by to see what the problem was......our cell phone could not get service---so they loaned us theirs and helped us find a mechanic. We were back on the road in 2 hours and the 3 federales who helped us would not even accept a soda!!! We travel down to San Felipe frequently and have never had a problem there. We do our best to speak spanish(Rosetta Stone course in progress) and respect their culture.

We will be arriving on Thursday for the festival and will gladly lead a caravan down. Uwe is also joining us and I am not sure when he will be traveling.

Great Time in San Clemente!!

Thanks to all who made our first trip a blast.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There was a lot of history and that was great.

Of course winning the coveted trophy for the "Tacky Tourists" was the icing on the cake.. I know it hurts Ron, I could see it in your eyes, you really wanted that pinapple!! and who wouldnt, it is so totally cool.
Of course it goes to show what a well placed feather pillow can do for you.
And because we are new, no one knew to what lenghts and low's Chris and I would sink in a competition, but now you do. You might say I had to pull that one out of my _ _ _ ! literally..

But we loved everything about the trip, and I cant wait to see you all again and go camping.

We were thinking about a quicky to El Capitan in March? Anyone interested, we are still in the just talking mode, but I am serious about it.

Again thanks to all for making our virgin outing so great.

It keeps getting better...

Thanks to all who were not really involved in not really setting up this not really a rally rally. I never thought that Gorman could be topped, but your aspirations to strive for the ultimate in decadent frivollity continue to amaze, and it would appear, confuse me.

We continue to meet wonderful people who we look forward to seeing again in the future. The quantity and quality of food prepared is astounding. Since meeting Lauryn my culinary experiences have expanded beyond grilled cheese and Lucky Charms (and of course the 1/2 gallon of Breyer's Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert!) Our Potluck put the Waffle House to shame!

I'd be remiss not to mention the unrefined talent in our group who show up when Karaoke Rick creates his magic. Such encantations have produced the unforgettable sounds of a wounded gull regurgating a meal for its hungry chick...the United Nations corps of the 'Village People' with the only song they know...and the shy girl group (the only one's who are NOT tone deaf) passing the mike to the wounded gull. Fortunately, the potluck did not have many over-ripened fruits and vegetables.

The weather was absolutely GREAT (no such thing as bad weather...just bad clothing) and the New Jersey Giants spanked New England. Life is good...

Hi, we had a great time at San Clemente; New friends, old friends, lots of silver, great potluck, fun intertainment, and cozy foot ball party. Warm, cold, windy, rainy, and really nice clear day to drive home. But tempted to stay longer.

Yet another great rally!

I finally made it home tonight after squeezing out an extra day in San Clemente. It was a beautiful spot (nice pick TIMES), with lots of fun people (both old friends and the brave new ones), great food (and drink) and what uh...amazing entertainment. Crooner Rick made the ladies swoon once again with his famous karaoke machine (and I do apologize for some of the rest of us). I also hope that no one suffers permanent retina damage from the colors sported during the costume parade. But the point is, we all had a good time. Thanks all!

My brother and I were also pleased to welcome our Russian cousin Igor who taught us that special welcome dance.

More photos to follow...

It was a fierce contest!

It was impossible to call a clear winner of the Tacky Hawaiian Tourist Outfit...

So...it had to boil down to personality and who could do a bad hula (dirty dancing) without shame... You be the judge...

P.S. While Kim & Chris would do anything...Deb can only go so far...Ron you are on your own, dude...
