Smurf and turf?

Does that mean there will be a lot of small blue people lawn bowling?
I love lawn bowling.

Not too fond of the hurl & curl though...

Yes.

Unless you are a tiny smurf.
Then you wear blue.
Probably not an issue for you.

Wear white. All white.

And it may be sand bowling.
But that's the way of the rally...
always something new...
lawn bowling with an edge.

kev,

I have trouble keeping myself up, so I am not the thread keeper upper.

The body surfing can be good if the swell is just right, however, there tends to be a lot of "shore break" and the water will be fairly cold in February, bring a wet suit.

The bike would be handy to cruise to the "full hook up" area and vice versa, but otherwise, there is way more fun things to do in San Clemente than ride, bikes that is.

The train runs down on the tracks below the bluffs next to the sand. Although you can cross the tracks to get to the beach, it is best to use the small tunnel via the maintained beach path. no commercial trains, just an occasional people hauler, not a big disturbance compared to big MOHOs diesel generators (none will be near our fortified camping area).

Bam,

Not to worry...these trains are people movers and don't usually run at night.
The Child's "Hellloooooo" is far more envasive.

Finally!!!

. . . a rally (not really) that we can attend (really) that's not scheduled on a marching band competition weekend. (Thank god they don't do this year 'round.)

Signed up thru reserveamerica for not really space #18, Fri./Sat. in the section for those of us who still like roughing it (not).

Mr. 'bo,
That's upper crust OC. I'm not sure we can use the term watering hole without getting run out of town. I do know a pretty good rib joint though.
