New Boondockers Club

Anyone interested?

I see it as a group that would have informal boondocking rallies (non-elect) to full blown boondocking, share locations, and so forth.

I would propose the first rallies to be held in
  • West VA or East TN in the second half of May
  • central or north New Mexico in the second half of June.

is that Western Virginia or West Virginia? If it were the 13- 15th, I would be in. Western or West works too.

Either is good with me. I was thinking west VA but I dont have the local knowledge to name the best spot. May 13-15 is the week after graduation so I suspect it would work fine for me.

Rodney,

Depending on what you're looking for, I might be able to help with a spot in the Shenandoah Valley here in Virginia. I-81 and the I-66 area.

Let me know what you're looking for, how many, etc.... For elec I have a quite Honda 2000 that we have used to keep the batts charge durning the day allowing for the quite nights.

Paul, that is sure enough close! I think any pleasant location would work, of course the more scenic the better. Having things to do nearby is also a big plus. I have no idea how many people might be interested in attending at this point.

There are four of us. We are more than good with Paul's location. I'll cook breakfast for all those wanting.

Boondocking is nice if it is not so hot that you wished you had AC.
Interested in NM, southern CO and SE Utah.

I'm thinking here in late June. Up at the end of the road on the Pecos, next to the wilderness area. Good hiking, fishing, ect. The group rate is pretty reasonable- five rigs is the break even point at $10 a night. I would be tempted to say a four night run would be the way to go.

For reference, Pecos is about half an hour east of Santa Fe. Then 20 miles up the mountain.

We could make the May trip, perhaps. Frank's breakfast may just seal the deal.

Western Virginia and West Virginia is not far from my Northern Virginia base camp.
I hear there are a few good boondocking sites in "rideair's" region around Front Royal, VA are nice.
Plan a plan, select a site and I will try to boondock with you.

I can't make this one (although I have been known to change my mind in 18 minutes) but would like to be kept in the loop on future events
