Haven't been right there, but I know that area- -just south of Nellysford, VA.
Toured the "Trailer Buff" Airstream restoration shop a number of years ago. He had dozens of old Airstreams out back. Don't know if they're still in business. I would guess the G.W. Nat'l Forest area would be good for boondocking and dark skies.
Worth serious consideration.

Obie,

The way I understood the post from Rodney, he was looking for something May 13-15. Rodney, correct me if I'm wrong.

Has any one heard anything from Dave and Martha. Last rally I saw them at was Burlington. I stopped by their business shortly after that, but haven't seen or heard of them since

Really would like to but I really am committed (as apposed to being committed)
to doing some other things in that time frame.

Rick,

No worries. At least we get to see your smiling face on the Rt. 11 Caravan from Bristol, TN to 1000 Island, NY in June. I'll be getting the info out to those on the list so far this weekend (I hope). FYI, I already have all the campgrounds spots reserved along the route with the help of Hunt Jones. See you in Bristol June 17th.

quiet dry camping

This is a great idea, Rodney. I love the idea of dark skies and no hookups.

We'll stay tuned in. Can't do the mid-May weekend, niece getting married in Charlotte. Some other time, we're in.

Here's a link to my earlier post. Had a time locating it. But North River Campground in the GW NF is close to the VA/WVA border SW of Harrisonburg. Large open area for many trailers, trails, pit privies and cool mountain streams. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f382...nia-21572.html

I only wish we were able to come. We already have plans for that week of May. Keep us in mind if you do any others this summer.

Paul,

Can our rig make it to the location, in terms of the roads? I would love to come but I am working that weekend. Will see if Jerry is interested, he would like the dark skies and his telescope. We had been to Spruce Knob VA and the night sky is spectacular!

Sonia,

If were are talking about a rally in "Massies Mill" Virgina that I offered a few weeks ago, the answer would be "yes". I did not see any feedback on that location from anyone so I wasn't sure if people want to do it. I will need to know soon if people want to do it so I can plan the weekend accordingly.

Guys/Gals is there any interest in the Massies Mill Virginia location for the weekend talked about in the begining? I think it was May 13,14,15th.

I have no problem going somewhere else.

Let me know ASAP.

Thanks,

Come bidder, come bidder, one, I've got one, One, Two, Do I hear two? Come bidder two, I've got two from the driveway, Three, Do I hear three? Come bidder, come bidder. I'm currently at "Two".

My current bidders on the rally are "Airstreamhobo" and "Sugarfoot" from the driveway.

Do I have any other bidders?

Going once?

Sugarfoot likes hanging around in your driveway a lot. Our best to everyone at the Balloon Campground.
Jerry is interested.
