That is the site, and unless the numbers go over mass gathering limits, no special permits are needed for this place. Its infrastructure is setup for festivals.
As for time, mine is limited, so while I still have the energy and ambition, I will keep trying to set something up.
I am not sure which event is in the photo, it could be Gathering Of The Vibes or the Harley Rendezvous

Thanks for your post in the other thread, and the linked info.

Smaller is more our style also.

Wind Gap is not exactly small, but not too large (at least when we went many years ago).

Here's a list of who they've had in the past:
https://www.greenriverfestival.com/history
I see they have RV hookups this year at the Franklin County Fairgrounds:

https://www.greenriverfestival.com/camping

Mid-July is often pretty hot and humid there, wonder if the electric hookups can handle an A/C? [Edit yes per the FAQ -- "Voltage is 240 V. There is a mix of 30, 40, and 50 amps hookups scattered around the fairgrounds with five boxes of new high-power boxes. Translation: there is plenty of electricity for all!"]

Thanks for the link.

Old Settlers Music Festival is coming up April 19-22 in Texas and the very next weekend, April 26-29, is Merlefest in North Carolina.

Peter - yes, we’ve been the last 2 years, plugged in, and when needed, used the AC (wasn’t actually needed much).

This is a GREAT festival - Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, we’ll be there again this year. Get your beer coins and check out the Ginger Libation..... :-)

Great music - great grounds - decent camping - well worth it!

Not sure about anything this summer. Life keeps getting in the way, including jury duty for a few weeks probably. Ugh!

Are you still going to Green River?

Will update if we head out for anything.

Thumbs up

Will do but the decisions to go will be fairly last-minute FWIW.

Walking the 10 blocks to the Saturday Market in downtown Eugene this morning we spotted "Hulga" ?? from Iowa parked at the curb. No camera etc, but must have been a mid 50's vintage AS. Hmmm, probably from the Salem WBCCI Rally...maybe in town for the show. Seems there is an inordinate volume of TT's in town this week.

Upon returning home, saw this in the Register Guard and thought I'd thought I'd pass it along...(going down the road feeling bad/not fade away)...

http://www.registerguard.com/enterta...-saturday-show

Thanks you Alex Cipolle and the Register Guard for a great article and compilation of their music.

This article was in the RG today. Seems the stars are in total alignment as not only is it the 50th anniversary of Tome Wolfe's, Bay Area classic Electric Cool-aid Acid Test but the Dead are playing the U of O Autzen Stadium tonight with The Oregon Country Fair in a couple of weeks. Willamette at Broadway, absolutely packed with out of town DH's in their bright new tour t-shirts. The corner is unofficially Kesey Square in honor of possibly the city's most favorite son and U of O grad and main character in Wolfe's book. (tho marus mariota is well up there)

If you scroll down to the bottom there are active links to three Dead shows from Autzen. If you click the last link at the bottom...More Grateful Dead concerts....Well close your eyes and drift back thru those memories...

RIP Jerry.

The Wide Open Bluegrass Festival starts tomorrow in Raleigh, NC. This is my favorite festival. It is really three festivals in one. The Blue Grass Ramble is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday where you can hear music from about 6 pm till 2 am in four bars, one church and the Marriott Hotel. You can stay in one location or ramble around from one location to the next. The second part is ticketed top groups performing on Friday and Saturday at the Red Hat Amphitheatre. The third is free music at seven different stages downtown on Friday and Saturday.

Here is a photo of the Lil Smokies performance at the Victory Church and a photo of my Airstream parked in a downtown parking lot. IBMA is not providing RV parking this year but I am hoping to snag a spot on my own.

Is anybody else planning on going to this festival?

Forgot to mention - last week attended Fresh Grass in North Adams, MA at Mass MoCA. Terrific line up closing with Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. Sadly, his arm is in a sling with a torn bicep - but his back up mandolin dude was en fuego! Great fest.

Coming up weekend after next, the inaugural Black Bear Americana Fest in Goshen, CT.

Lineup includes John Gorka, The Nields, The Mammals, Vance Gilbert, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams and more - camping on site. Anyone going??

Maybe next year!

Peter

PS -- Have fun at Black Bear, SSM, so close . . . and yet so far . . . with life getting in the way of camping this year. John Gorka is great -- prefer his version of "The River Is Wide" to JT's. Think that deserves a new post in the OTRA II thread!
