Mini Caravan/Rally on the Cal Coast?

Ok, after much waiting, deliberating and discussion Roman and I are still entertaining the idea of putting together a mini caravan or couple of stops rally of sorts along the cali coast (could be north or south or both) to surf, kayak, fish etc...... Who would be interested? Where would/could you like to go? When? See, we are pretty open (we both work out the home) and know that most need to plan around work/kids school etc.. If you are truly interested please email me. I will post on airforums regading progress and updates. We would like to have it be open to anyone who wants to camp along the ocean and perhaps join Roman surfing, me learning to kaya with Rome, fishing and whatever else you can do in the ocean. Bring the kids (yours), the dogs, the bikes/kayaks/boards/bbqs'.... I will organize (albeit not too structured or formal) all you have to do is tell what dates work for you and where you would like to go. I can put together an email list and website and start to take your votes!

Hi lovingtahoe.

Sounds like fun!

Probably the best thing to do is throw out some dates and places and people who are available will sign up. There are lots of us in California who camp and rally a lot and are pretty spontaneous. Check the Rally Calendar here on the Forums and try to pick dates that don't already have CA Rallies scheduled. Plan a month or two ahead if possible. Off season is easiest.

Good luck and keep us all posted.

Rally on,
and no, those photos are not me.

this could be great fun!

but it does need a least a range for time and location....

and the most basic info on...

what year?
how many trailers?
boondocking or rv parks?
general starting point?
daily moves or every few days?
how many miles per jump?
interval stop locatons?...

several folks might be really UP for this sort of caravan.

for local folks OR distant kin some basic advanced timing is needed...

i'm hoping to do another western swing starting in august so tell us more!

and if u keep most of this ON the forums, people and ideas might multiply...

IF you are wacky enough to try this, THIS year (i'd be up 4it) ...

there are some already scheduled rallies on the calendar that might be included, but they aren't all coastal..

for example the lava beds thing in august is on the short list for me, before heading UP the oregon coast...
all of the true things that i am about to tell you are shameless lies. l.b.j.

we are here on earth to fart around. don't let anybody tell you any different. k.v.

Good idea and 2air's suggestions help us all plan.

Travel is in my blood, adventure is my passport, aluminum is my favorite construction medium, and therefore, an Airstream was my destiny.

We'd be up for a trip! Big Sur to anywhere north of there!

Any time after Burning Man and/or Labor Day works for us!

OMG...other burners! I am skipping this year Do you camp with BurnStream Court? I never did, had my own theme camp and the last year I was with Tuna Camp. If you dont know those guys...find them! Fresh fish on the Playa. You have to ask around they are not on a map. Don some EL WIRE for me....

Living in AZ I am so up for Cal coast adventure! Just back from Mission Beach, had a blast, the cool weather was such a treat.
