We will probably see you when school lets out and the grandkids can attend the air zoo. I know they had fun the last time. We will let you know ahead of time so you can arrange to have lunch with us.
Came into MI. on memorial day and didn't see an airstream in our travels until we got to the I-94 US-127 split and we seen one eastbound exiting south on 127 and another one westbound on I-94 at the same time. Of course, niether one waved back at us. Must be that old aluminium superiority disease we see a lot of. Glad our forums group doesn't seem to have it.
See you all soon.
Can't wait to welcome you back to the Air Zoo Buck!!! I still get a chuckle when I think about how I stalked your MH in the Air Zoo parking lot, only to meet you a few weeks later at the Rally.

Thanks for your input on the Relay for Life team. In fact, thanks to EVERYONE for their input on the Relay for Life team, what an outstanding group of people!

When I look through the forums member list, I come up with quite a few people in West Michigan I've never met.....perhaps it's time to start a thread for all those not in the Metro Detroit group (some might call 'em the smart ones........)

Ahhhh....that's right. We'll be in Elhart Lake Wisconsin at Road America.

Derek is headed there as I type for the motorcycle races....he'll work as a campground host for the four days. Since they pay for his fuel to get there, feed him, give him a campsite, pay him a daily wage, and he has the chance to watch the races, it's like dream come true for him!

Where is the information on "all the failures of Dexter axles" Our Tradewind has a single Dexter axle, my old snowmobile trailer had a single Dexter, had it for five years, new owners still have no problems. My new snowmobile trailer has two Dexter axles. I've never had a single problem, if they are in fact bad I want to know so I can fix any thing before they go bad.

By the way, we still have not made our reservations at KC!

Should have a new awning by the time this rally comes around, Renee never did like my blue tarp awning, she had to go out and buy real awning fabric. She also repainted the floor yesterday, from grey to brown.

Arrived back home late Sunday night from my trip to Road America and now I have to replace the kitchen window in Felix, glass broke during the drive up. Roads through Indiana and Illinois are rough. Pretty sure the rough roads broke the window. This window had a BB hole in it when we bought Felix last year, it now has three cracks from the hole all the way to the frame. Would not be surprised if somebody reads this and tells me the window cracked because I have A Dexter axle and no shocks. Worse thing about having to replace the glass is we will not have original glass in all of our windows. Probably end up getting a scrap piece of lexan from work instead of going back to glass.

Later - D

Axles Failures

Hi Derek
I think I heard about the failures from someone in Texas, in a pm. This person mentioned that Roger Williams RVs had, I think either 10 or 12 axles come in that he personally saw unloaded. Wondering what was up he ask a saleman,WHY SO MANY?The reply was that they were for Airstreams of recent vintage that had axle failures. The owners oppted not to replace the Dexters. Of course this is just hear say.The guy was a little shy with his info.
No Derek the axles didn't cause the window to break (SILLY) I would put MY money on the BB.I only bet on sure things!
One reason I oppted for the Henshens is they are HERE.NO FREIGHT Sold from Calif, Business to Business NO TAX. Besides Andy cut me a real deal which I'm not allowed to discuss. OK NOW YA KNOW.
I hope we meet up at KC.
Take Care
Roger

Well with hear say, I have nothing to worry about

I know the axle had nothing to do with the window breaking, but just knowing how people on this site react, somebody will tell me it was the shock-less axle's fault. The axle and weight distribution hitch threads just get out of hand. By the way are you putting shocks back on with your new axle? I bought a new pair off of E-Bay but am not going to use them should just sell them. The following is a response I got back from Gabriel shock out of Canada when I was searching for shocks.

Derek,
*********** I was able to use a different database and found that the 0220003 is indeed the Airstream part number for the 610816. Normally the customer part number is listed on the shock drawing, but in this case it was not. So to answer your question, both numbers refer to the same shock.

Thanks

Good thing Andy gave you a break on the price, I have a hard time believing Henshens really cost twice that of other brands.

Enough sign work for one day I am going home - D
