Illinois Excello

Saturday I stopped by Camping World in Nashville, TN. to pick up a few items on the way to set up my Excella at the campsite. In the parking lot I spied what appeared to be a 25' Excello with a build date of 6/88. It was being towed by a Ford F250. Painted on the window was Bob and Sue (I think) Johnson from somewhere in Illinois. I waited around for over 20 minutes hoping to talk with them about the layout of their trailer but I guess they were really busy buying stuff. Oh well, I towed on to the other side of Ashland City, TN. to the campsite and set the trailer for the next month of off and on turkey hunting.

Funny, I get the same feeling inside me when I see the 25 footers that I did when I use to look into the eyes of my girlfriend in college. Something must be wrong with me.

The layout will be almost exactly as the current Classic 25, unless it is one of the few odd ones like mine with a corner bed and credenza in back with an extra wardrobe.

Until yesterday you could see that floorplan by looking at my photos. Presumably you can still access them through Airstreamphotos, but if you can figure out how to locate photos based on the user's ID you are doing better than I.

Craig,

Funny thing is that Kim and I saw the same Airstream! We must have just missed you.

For the rest of our listening audience, Craig lives in my hometown, but since I have not been back since getting to know him on the forum, I have not seen his Excella in person. I PMed him Friday to check his Sunday schedule as I had had an unexpected trip to Tullahoma come up. He told me about the hunting trip, and we agreed "next time". Looks like I should of checked his Saturday schedule

Anyway, I too looked the Excello over before we entered the store as it was hard to miss being surrounded by so many SOBs. Upon leaving the store, we saw "Bob and Sue" (an older couple) circling the lot to leave. I gave them the "thumbs ups", and they smiled and waved. They appeared to head back to Briley Parkway" (did you get the traffic we got?).

When's your next Camping World stop?

Tom,
Talk about a coincidence! I pulled out of Camping World and stopped off at Cullum & Maxey for Par Bond and a water pump strainer/filter. They didn't have what I needed so they ordered it for me. The UPS man just delivered it not more than 5 minutes ago. The new Camping World master catalog just arrived in the mail today so I will be browsing it this evening. I leave this Friday around 10 a.m. to head back to the trailer for the turkey hunt Saturday morning. Do you need something picked up at Camping World? Yes, I caught all the traffic out from Camping World but it thinned out not far down the road.
