Highest vote-getter takes it for the weekend.

Lou,
Not sure if you intend us to vote here (and Lorrie and I cannot commit to anything yet), but we can rule out the weekends of July 28-30 and Aug 18-20 for sure, because we already have other plans. That leaves us as possibilities for:
July 21-23
Aug 4-6
Aug 11-13

Metro Detroit Camping
Andy and Claudia need a date in August. 1) August 4-6, 2) August 11-13 and 3) August 18-20
Can't do July as already heading out for week's vacation. If a date in July wins, we probably won't be there. Sorry Claudia doesn't want to loose her job.

Hey, Lou, add a vote for 4-6 AUG then, for me. If July is out for some, then we could make the early early august one. We're going over to Hoffmaster at the end of that Month and don't want too camp to close to that date. So the early August date is good for us too.

I like August 4th myself.
I probably will not get out much this summer.
Too many things cooking here at home:
Work-The six-speed FWD trannie starts full production in a month
Biz-Started my own controls engineering consulting biz
Home-Started raising and breeding discus fish again after a ten year hiatus
Improvements-Got to tear-off and and replace all of my roof
Lotsa stuff going on at the homefront!
We will be able to make the rally though.
Please PM or email me and let me know what everyone thinks so far.
Any ideas, help or suggestions would be great!

Scouting report
We had nothing to do this morning after breakfast, so we took off to look at campgrounds. It seems John had called some of the places before we got there, so they were aware of our plans.
We really can't go wrong with either KC or Totem Pole campgrounds. KC has pretty good sized sites, a small swimming pond and a new playground. The bath house is older, but well maintained. The owners are in the process of cleaning up for the season, but the place is pretty nice. A building with a kitchen is available for potlucks, etc.
Totem Pole has a nicer playground, a larger swimming area and a little nicer bath house. The sites are smaller, but not tiny, and the pavilion is not fully enclosed. This place is really nice too. We spoke to the owners in both places and they seem like real nice people.
I'm checking with work tomorrow and will know what date work for us, I really want to make this rally

Um, wow, I just dropped a bunch of them an email yesterday, just to see if they actually had openings for a smallish group of Airstreams (and Airstream Argosys of course!). I guess you catch their attention when you bring up the A word?
By the way, Greenbriar Camp and Golf in Brooklyn has also emailed me back with a 10% discount. Personally, if anyone wants to golf, I could hold out for some rounds.

John,
Have you gotten anything back in response to the emails other than Greenbriar?
I hit Greenbriar up last year and they already had three other pop-up camper rallies planned so I did not even get the time of day.
I talked at great length with the owners of Totem Pole last year.
Harold-Did Totem Pole have what looked like a cul-de-sac area?

The cul-de-sac is really the center ring of the campground. There's 23 sites, in a circle, dead center of the campground, across the street from the bath house and playground. There's a pavilion on the corner at one end. All these sites have water and thirty amp electric. The lady says that area is open the last two weeks of July, I didn't ask about August. That area would work out real well for our bunch, they said their smallest site will fit a 32 ft trailer.

Totem and Irish Hills Kampground have as well, and after I checked my email (Gmail takes some getting used to...) I realized it was Irish Hills with the 10 %. I'm sure there's perks at other places. The gas prices have to have them scared poopless, especially those that are far from the freeway.

And now I have gotten a reply from Indian Creek in Tecumseh. I think I should have come concrete info on deals, facilities and availability by Wednesday.
So that I know what's up, I think I see, so far, if we do this in August (4-6, hopefully):
pattersontoo
wheel interested
HDS
ITOWAIR
Ayrstrm2
Tin Sista
JeffTerry
HappyCampers
Wagon Girl
Overlander66?
Loudruff looks like they can't make the first two weeks of August, but that's looking like the sweet spot for everyone. Can they change their plans?
Let's start getting a site count, so I have some leverage with which to get a good deal.

Greenbriair has chimed in with a $5 a night discount which is a 20% discount on their rates, brings it down to $22 for W/E. I'm probing them for golf discounts too, Anyone that attends want to golf? I'm not a golfer, but if you want to I will try to get a deal. Oh, they charge a $1 per child and $2 per dog, but I'll try to get them comped.

Alright. We're looking to nail down the location by the end of the week. Anyone have any other CGs or locations to add in the mix? Post it now and then we'll add it all up and see what comes out. I believe we want to start reserving something by next week.

I just noticed you added a poll to the top of this thread. In looking those six weekends over, and realizing that we are already camping on three of those six weekends, our participation may be questionable at all (gotta spend an occasional weekend at home), however, I limited my vote to the Aug 4-6 weekend in the poll (rather than the three I previously noted), because that might be the best fit around our other events.
So much to do - so little time.

John and Harold have done a lot of legwork on this. Thanks guys!
I would like to do the Aug. 4-6 gig myself. The July one will be right around the same time as the MIS Indy car race.
As for the campground, I like the sounds, and looks, of Irish Hills Kampground.
Did Harold check out that one too?
I would like to narrow this down to two campgrounds.
I am thinking KC Campground and Irish Hills Kampground.
What do the rest of you think?
Carol sure has been awfully quiet lately..... Hmmmm.....

I have changed my mind. I want three campgrounds now!
Has anybody found out anything about Totem Pole having the "circle" available the first weekend in July?
