Here is a great summary of what's going on the weekend of the rally. Whole lotta stuff going on. I need a head count for the Duck Ride on Saturday. See the message. It is fun.
Hi John - Yes, I did mention that Saturday, April 28th is a busy day here. Just so that you can plan ahead, here is what is going on:
Friday: The Park and attractions are fully open including shops and restaurants from 10:30 am until 5:00 pm
We'll have the Pavilion set up for you by 6:00 pm that day.
Saturday: Besides everything being open from 10;30 am until 7:00 pm, that Saturday is part of our "Spring Fling" Saturdays here in the campground. Spring Fling is when we give complimentary rides around the lake on the water taxi from 11 am until 2 pm; have a magic show in the Pavilion; and hold a fishing tournament for kids 15 and under.
On Saturday morning, your attendees can choose to take a ride on an amphibious vehicle called the "Duck," a 1940's era Army Dukw that picks up passengers here at the Pavilion for a ride around the Park and a splash into the lake. People love the ride . . . cost is $10.70 (which includes tax). We would need to know ahead of time how many of your folks what to take the Duck so that we can arrange enough vehicles to accommodate your group and other campers as well.
On Saturday, the Park's free shuttle will run every 45 minutes (starting at 10:30 am) from the Pavilion over to Crossroads where the attractions, shops and restaurants are located.
The Pavilion will again be set up for you after the magic show and Spring Fling activities have ended around 4 pm.
The free Laser Show will begin at dusk that evening, with the shuttle then bringing everyone back to the campground.
Sunday: The Park attractions open at 10:30 and close at 5:00 pm. You have asked for the Pavilion that morning, so I will assume your folks will not be looking to do anything else that morning.
FYI, the two-day attraction tickets are $28 plus tax for anyone 12 and up, and can be purchased in the campground office upon arrival. Children ages 3 through 11 tickets are $23 plus tax.
When planning your activities, I suppose you could have everyone email back to you as to whether they want to reserve a place on the Duck ride for that Saturday morning. Then a couple of weeks before your arrival, you could tell me the number and we could then make the arrangements for the number of Ducks needed. Nothing else listed above requires a reservation or advanced commitment before everyone is here.
Call or email with comments or questions. :-)
Sharron
