TAC/Springstream Stone Mt. Park Rally

Just an advance warning, I will be wearing these at the Stone Mt. Park Rally in April! I know, they are frightening.

TAC/Springstream Rally, Stone Mt. Park, GA

I have requested another data run listing those who have called in and registered for the rally. I will post the names and the assigned sites when they come in. We are making good progress but it's a good time to make your reservations for the rally. Keep in mind that if your plans change you can always cancel.

both Ga rallies

We would love to come to the Stone Mtn Rally, as we love staying at that campground, it is wonderful. However, we will be attending the Ga Mtn Rally two weeks earlier in Hiawassee and can't figure out what to do with the time between the two wknds...hmmm. We live too far to go back and forth. Don't want to spend that much time at TOG either. Wish the rallies were back to back. Kate

Tac-ga/springstream rally, stone mt. Park

Here is the link to the campground map. The purple sites are the premium sites where we will be located. We surround a beautiful grassy common area which includes the swimming pool, the playground, volleyball and horseshoe area, with the pavilion and general store bordering the opposite end. As you can see, the lake is very close and easy to walk to. In the past, we have parked our kayaks by the Cherokee Dock. It will be an impressive sight indeed to see the silver Airstreams lined up in this area. I feel certain we will get some attention.

John, do you know which sites are still available? If my work schedule permits I think I would like to try to attend. This would be my first rally. I have not been to Stone Mountain sense I was a kid.

I think this may work

I am trying to attach a PDF that shows some of the sites still available and the ones that are taken. Looking forward to seeing lots of silver around the whole circle.

I am no tech person so if someone else can do a better job, please do.

No problem, the following sites are open:
Site 140-146; Sites 149-156; Sites: 164-A,166-A, 167, 168

Stone Mountain has made a ton of changes and improvements. The campground has been really brought up to date with the amenities that most RV folks like to have like wireless internet, cable, sewer, water, electric. Some of the sites have their own little deck with a provided gas grill. Finally the laser light show has been redone and is now one of the best. Crossroads Village has been upgraded and more attractions have been added. The management company for Stone Mountain Park is the same as Dollywood in TN. They have done a lot to make this a great entertainment value. Make your reservation and join the Airstream Rally Community! Once you go, I know you will be back again in the future. Take care.

Alright, I am booked in site #164A. Hopefully I will have my new axle in place and ready for a nice comfortable drive over. Looking forward to my first rally.

Welcome aboard my friend! There are going to be a number of first rally folks at Stone Mt Park. For the first timers don't be bashful, ask one of us for help if you need it. If someone looks like they could use a hand then freely give it. Don't worry about making a few mistakes along the way. I still goof up at times and have made too many mistakes to count. The only bad thing about Stone Mountain for a first time rally is that it sets the bar fairly high.

Thanks, John, looking forward to it. As a newbie I have already made several nonfatal mistakes and I am sure to make many more as this learning process continues. Oh! The joys of Vintage Airstream ownership.
Just a side note, I was looking at the events schedule for the park and it looks like we will be able to see the new MountainVision laser light show on Saturday.

The general idea for Saturday is an early dinner potluck to give everyone time to get over to the meadow via shuttle for the light show. Best to get there at least an hour early to set up chairs or lay down a blanket. You can take picnic baskets or coolers. The show begins around 9:00pm. After the show we simply climb aboard the shuttle for a quick trip back to the campground.

Stone Mountain Georgia Airstream Gathering

I am glad to see that more Vintage Airstreams are making reservations for the Stone Mountain Gathering. Our 1968 Avion won't feel so out of place!
My husband was able to replace our hot water tank, but keep the original tank housing and use the original access door.He would be happy to show how it was done, in case others are confronted with the same dilema.Maybe more vintage trailer owners would like to participate in a "Show and Tell" too.

In post #39 there was a list of attendees by Airforum name and trailer model/year. That is a great way to see the group!

Airstream and Shasta Gathering at Stone Mountain

Another Shasta just made a reservation for Stone Mountain Campground. The information I just received was: If you have more than one vehicle coming to the campground, the first vehicle now has the free gate entrance but the second vehicle will still need to pay the gate entrance fee, but just once for the entire stay. I thought this was important information for those who need to come separately. Also the check-in time is two o'clock PM. However, if you call ahead and your site is empty you can come earlier.
