While we wait for those important dates to start piling up, I thought maybe you'd like to share what at Fort Wilderness or WDW you are looking forward to the most... other than meeting your fellow Airstreamers! Or any favorites you'd like to share....

I like to walk down to the beach on the first night, watch the Electronic Water Pageant and see the fireworks over Cinderella's Castle.

My first night favorite is to head to Epcot for some yummy food and stay for Illuminations.

On a sadder note, I just heard that Hoop de Doo will be closed for refurbishment from early August thru late December. Too bad--it's really a fun show. But...you can get the yummy Hoop de Doo food at Trails End!

Hey Sue,
I was wondering were you heard this. I checked with some of my ff.net friends. They had heard the rumor but not seen anything official. That is a really long time for one of WDW's biggest dinner shows to be down....

Hi Nicki,

Came thru on one of the Disney groups I belong to. Don't remember which one and just checked my deleted folders and can't find it. But I just googled "hoop de doo" rehab and it comes up as being closed August 6 thru December. I agree, that's a very long down time. I dont think it's confirmed but I would be curious if anyone has been able to make reservations after the beginning of August?

My friend at ff.net said she couldn't find it confirmed but that there were several different rumors floating around as well. I guess we will just have to see....

Hi All,

Just got off of the phone with Disney Dining. According to the cast member I spoke with Hoop de doo is scheduled for rehab from 9/30 thru 12/?. He said that may be "pushed back" or even cancelled, but they are--at this point--being told not to accept reservations from 9/31 until "sometime in December".

Thanks Sue. Looks like this is just one of those situations we will have to watch. If anyone has a suggestion for a back up replacement for it....

Shawn and I just upgraded to smart phones. Naturally, one of the first things I did was start looking for a Disney App. Well after surfing around for some time I found one that made me want to try it out. Undercover Tourist

There are two versions. One that is free and one that is not. I am trying out the free version and so far I am really impressed. Because I know there are several people who are very new to Walt Disney and planning can get overwhelming I think this might be helpful. This app has the parks hours (6 months in advance), restaurants (menus for most of them), wait times for rides, and a schedule should you want to plan out your day and email it to yourself. For those of you thinking of visiting Universal they also have an app for that park.

Anyone else have a good Disney or Universal app they'd like to share?

I don't have app suggestions but I have been watching Disney on Youtube. Undercover Tourist has made several that take you on a video tour of Epcot. They have other Disney topics on Youtube as well.
