Don't Shoot... vintage airstream parts swap meet

I hope Im asking in the correct area.

If not please don't shoot and point me in the direction to where to post.

Is there such a place where people meet and sale parts or swap parts in the Airstream community? If so, where and when? I have many parts to sell or trade and it seem likes it would be a ton of fun to see others AStreamers wears and meet AS peeps.
Thanks

I think that there is a swap meet at the WBCCI region and special event rallies, also at Vintage Airstream Club rallies.

Arrow Fun but less likely to materialize IMHO

Ya know I have seen a few of the remod proz on here that say they have lots of leftover parts, but it seems that most of us would only have stuff that we took out of a trailer that we did not like or that was damaged or ugly and worn. Add to that the fact that most stuff taken out is large and fragile such as furniture and cabinets and not really easily removed (leading to more damage) or windows (fragile) or appliances (heavy and clumsy to move and store). Anyway the used Airstream stuff is just downright unruly.
One of those Colorado proz a while back was talking of flat throwin' out some pretty rare and hard to find parts (interior end caps IIRC).
Well my point is that unlike swap meets for car enthusiasts or puter geeks or radio nuts, RV stuff is alot less manageable IMHO. Car body paarts are alot more durable to be hauled around and of course many engine and other trim and such parts are small and easy to pack and set up for display and sale.

I have foolishly stored and paid storage on an L shaped 70's sofa out of an Excella for too many years. I doubt I could even figure out how to reassemble it. It would be tough to ship it to anyone, and the cushions are brittle, the upholstery worn (and ugly), but I just keep payin storage on it. Go figure.

So what'ch you got?

The Texas State Vintage Rally is something you really need to attend. Among the vintage people present, you should find answers to most of your questions and possibly answers to some you didn't think to ask. You will find both vintage and new units at this rally, but the main focus is vintage. The Vintage units park together and have a large open house on Saturday. The swap meet may fall short of your expectations for many of the reasons Distantdrummer mentioned. Items tend to be small.

It is a great rally and if history is a reliable indicator, it is well attended by vintage people with a variety of AS models represented.

For a swap meet with larger items, it is the FCU Vintage Restoration Rally in June. This rally is focused on vintage restoration and well worth the trip to New Mexico.

We made both this year, and plan to repeat in 2010.

We always have a great swap meet at the Rocky Mountain Vintage Airstream Rally in August each year. Lots of buying, selling & trading takes place...bits & pieces, appliances, interiors - whatever things people have uncovered throughout the year...it's cool!

Seems like this might be a good place to list them - over in the classifieds. There are a few items I am looking for. Tail Lights for one (the PO keeps saying they have them but just do not know where). I am getting tired of waiting. Anyway - just a thought.

May just list in the classifieds or Ebay. Have sold a few parts on Ebay so far. Just seem like it would be much more fun at a swap meet :}

Pssst...the rally you are inquiring about was in 2010. I believe there was also one in 2011, you may want to Private Message Silverhobby to see if there is one scheduled for this year...I haven't seen mention of one yet, but it was in TN in 2010 & 2011.
