Unless there is another Miss Rivette2008/W8JUZ/Laura, then it must be you! Should be a fun, relaxing, enjoyable weekend for all.

As this is our first event such as this, we want to clarify something.

"Happy Hour ..... we are going to assign everyone a day to contribute. This way you only have to bring an item once. All the rest of the days you just bring your beverage and enjoy...."

We will be assigned to bring something for the group to munch on, not beverages. Everybody brings their own beverage every day. Right?

To add to that - is there anything else we're expected to bring? (Other than our happy selves and extra leveling boards.)

I seem to recall, at one point, the idea of daisy chaining water, but I'm guessing that's out. (I could also be remembering another event.)

Yay - only 8 work days away from Bash!

Parts

Started cleaning out the cellar of parts. Here's what I'm bringing. Maybe more, maybe less.

Parts out of the 56 caravanner
- Round 110v ceiling light from up front.
- Interior side light with cone shaped shade. The base is in tough shape but the shade is fine.
- C-channel 6-8 pieces
- External water fill with cap and shell plate
- shock absorbers (lightly used) Replaced to longer shocks on axle replacement.

Parts out out of the 65 GT
- large 12v rectangular ceiling light. 4 bulbs inside
- curved plastic fridge interior vent.

Odds-n-sods
- marine compass - round with black plastic housing (used)
- marine switches (used)
- stainless (large) clamshell vent
- marine stainless stove cap. Nice option for 60s side vented heaters.

parts - part 2

Also,

A pair of leg-o-matic chairs. Dark stain with green plastique seat cover.

I bought a set of four, but only needed two. If you're interested, pm me.

The assigned happy hour was voted down by my co hosts. It was my idea to break it up equally so everyday would have a good spread. I find usually everyone puts something out the first day and then the days after slack off in contributions. My co host felt it was too school like to assign a day to contribute. Just bring something to share when ever you want to bring it on what ever day you choose. You can bring something everyday if you want. We encourage sharing. The entire event is BYOB. To happy hour you should bring your chair, your drink, a plate maybe to put some of the goodies on. You should also bring a big smile and some stories to tell. The same holds true for breakfast and the saturday night steak dinner.

Water... in the next few days we will have two locations for water fill up before you come. There will be one location to the North in Sherburne and one for those coming from the South in Norwich. You will be able to tow empty and fill up just before you arrive. We are doing this because all potable water will need to be trucked into the site and pumped up into the water tower. Once you deplete your tank, just let us know and we will fill you up again. We are encouraging everyone to conserve their resources as much as possible. One of Mr Byam's design criteria was to be self contained. We are trying to get everyone to make that goal a reality.

Generators are welcome to be run during the day. The one request is that if you do fire yours up, you ask your neighbors if they would like to plug in also. By sharing we can minimize the number of generators running.

Any more questions are welcomed. Please feel free to ask.

Is there an appointed "Historian" for this event? Will someone be blogging or contributing to this thread daily? Like others I'm anxious to hear all about your fun!

Take a little of your "Special, Awe and Good S**t rubs for the crowd!

Have a great adventure!

I will be bringing my solar panels that I did not have time to mount prior to leaving. Yesterday I installed the new power panel so I have real breakers. I have the inverter left to install then pack the trailer. I hi the road tomorrow!

I wish we were leaving tomorrow.....except for the getting ready to go part!

Thanks for the updated directions Rob. I am actually going to use them this time. Our usual tactic is to forget the final address of said campground or event and just look for other Airstreams at the nearest liquor or package store parked out front.

Then follow them. (this always works by the way)

Frank, will the schedule for the pot-lucks be available prior to the event? It may make a difference in food prep for some.

Another question - if we arrive Thursday evening, will there still be greeters and parkers - or at least someone who sees us coming up Airstream Drive and points us in the right direction?

One of us can't get out of work earlier...

Tom, I am sure we will be able to take care of you. Just call me on my cell when you are close if you are real late coming. At 8 you will have no problems. You know Beth and I had a similar issue once before an event. Ended up missing the entire day. One of us had the unfortunate issue of a stomach flu the very day they could not get off a little early. My doctor told us that a long drive would help a great deal and sure enough by the time we got to the event we had originally intended to go to early, we were all better.

The last time I ran I88 south from I90 it was real bad for waves and bumps. How's it now?

Last time I drove 88 it was smooth as can be. I have never run it, so not sure about the bumps and waves.
