Teresa, That is exactly the way it felt. You are missing the sand in places however. And what no Bikini! We have sand in many places in the trailer and I'm sure it will never disappear completely.

Everyone who has been watching this thread should feel little better now. We are in the Salton Sea area and it is raining.

Back in the USA

Well folks we have returned to the US from our Baja adventure. However, looking at the southern California weather plus the rest of the state.... our adventure may just be beginning!

Thanks to Str8Strm we got good directions on how to get back through Mexicali and to the border. We really appreciated the help as our Spanish surrounds reading menus not road signs... besides we haven't exactly figured out where all the road signs are located!

We drove to El Centro had lunch today and then came up to the Salton Sea. Mostly because the weather here looked "better" than to the west, besides Don and I had never been to the Salton Sea and wanted to take a look. When we arrived it started to rain quite well, so we haven't looked at much, got parked, had dinner and have been surfing the 'net!

We took some pics we hope to post, but haven't got them downloaded yet, so you may have to wait another day...

Thanks to all who are following along. We left the sunshine today... miss it already.

I tried to post a couple of pictures, but got some kind of server error/message. So I will try again in a minute!

Pics from San Felipe, Baja California

This is what I tried to post a minute ago: a pic of the entrance to the campground we stayed at: Campo San Felipe and one of Don sitting on the beach just down from our Airstream.

Hope that you will have a good trip home, but the Calif weather report is not very good. Safe travels. Susan

I would like to see that someday as well. I hear there are some cool photo opportunities of ruined and abandoned beach resorts.

ER RV Park

Well I Guess the everyday duties of camping can catch up with one. We just got back from a trip to the ER at Eisenhower Hospital. I Got up this a.m. and was not feeling so well. Some of you know that I've had an interesting history with my heart. The symptoms reminded me of a day that was not so good. So off we went to be on the safe side. I'm sort of like an old Airstream. I have to get plugged into everything every so often. Thank goodness they didn't have to check the "Black Tank".All the connections went well, so they let me go. Maybe it was crawling under the trailer to connect the sewer line or something that pinched a nerve in my back and gave me symptoms. No one will ever know for sure. So we are now back in the Salton Sea RV Park for the night. We suggested that Jim and Cheryl head on because we thought it would be good for Claudia and I to take it easy for a day or two. They wanted to know what they could do to help. And I'm sure they would have done lots. But Claudia and I have been through this before and we knew we just had to go through the process. The last we talked with Jim and Cheryl they were on the road in the beautiful rain and wind of Southern California. We even saw a great sunset here at the Salton Sea. As a final note, ER Nurses are some of the greatest people alive.

Wow Don... trying to make it exciting on the trip home too! Good thing they didn't find any "rear end separation!"

I noted that So Cal had a TORNADO WATCH today! Hope all is well too with Jim and Cheryl.

Take it easy you guys, and as Andy says, "keep them wheels balanced!"

Happy you are well. The wonderful times and the bumps. Thank goodness this bump has passed and all is well. Tuning up the old parts has prevented us from doing the adventure. I am so happy all went well. Bill is getting along better now and we do hope to get on the road early Feb. to New Orleans. The wonderful lure of streamin along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still on the road

We were glad to hear Don & Claudia were OK also. Although Don is a tough nut....and to see how much work he does setting up the Bambi....I'm not surprised he's stiff in a place or two.
We haven't contributed as much to the thread as they have, but have really enjoyed the trip and especially traveling with them! We were able to take a few pics and now have them downloaded on my computer....so here are a few I've taken.

More pics

We drove from Salton City to Bakersfield and hit heavy rain on I10 and over the Tehachapi pass, but arrive to sunshine in Bakersfield. Picked oranges after arrival at Orange Grove RV park. Glad to be settled! May stay here a couple of days.

Here's some more pics from San Felipe!

Hunker Down...

Ok... we made it through the "ER" camp... glad I was able to bring Don back to the Bambi! Looks like we are going to have to wait out some of the rain for a day or two while Don sleeps off his muscle discomfort....

Here are a few more pictures of our adventure with the Jordan's! They were great to travel with ~ always had great ideas for dinner and fun stories to share! Besides they completely understood the need for naps! Thanks to Jim and Cheryl for convincing us to come along! Great adventure!

Here are pics of Chery and Gigi ~ can't forget a pic of Gigi!
Pics of leaving San Felipe, Baja ~ on the road towards the US
Pics of us at our camping spot at Salton Sea. Pretty spartan as far as flora! We do get to hear the coyotes at night!

We'll keep on posting until we get home!
