Another try on a picture...

We tried this twice and it failed... but we are back up again so we will try posting another picture. We have more to post but they are on our phones and we haven't got them downloaded to our computer yet. Too busy relaxing!

Fiend fix

The 63 Dometic Refer quit working because the ceramic burner had broken in two. See diagram.

Picasa Web Albums - Don - San Felipe pics.

So I took a small piece of Nicrome wire and wired the two pieces together. See diagram.

Picasa Web Albums - Don - San Felipe pics.

Next the wired piece was put back into place. Small adjustments were made on the burner height and. much to my hope, it worked. I believe this will only work while we are parked. The good news is that the friger is working this morning. I just thought I’d put this in for someone who might need a field fix to save their food also.

If I get any more jealous, I'm going to pop. Sounds (and looks) like a great trip. It got above freezing here today.......

Hello friends and followers!
Well, Don and Jim are usually up pretty early... Cheryl sometimes as well. Me, not so much. But I enjoy seeing the pictures while sipping my coffee around 8:00 a.m.

Yesterday the four of us ventured downtown (maybe 4 or 5 blocks) and scoped out the shops and eyed places for potential dinner. We saw a number of people eating at one restaurant right on the front road by the water that also had wifi... we all thought that looked like a real potential. So later we walked down and had dinner. Lots of nice choices, and the waitress took pity on us for our severely limited Spanish and the owner type came over to help answer our questions as he spoke very good English. Jim tried the wifi but didn't have much luck. But after a big dinner and beer we were happy to just bask in the quiet and walk back to the camp spot.

Today Don and I found a internet cafe. Only 1/2 block from where we are camped. Excellent ... coffee only $1 US, and high speed service. So we are in hog heaven! Outlets at the tables and all...

There must be something in the air here. Last night after dinner we were all tired from our hard day of doing much of nothing... so by 8:30 or 9:00 we were all snuggled in our beds, trying to stay awake to read our books. I made it to 9:30 and kept falling asleep so I gave up. Better than sleeping pills. :P

Don and Jim have been painting some and Cheryl has a number of hand work projects she works on. I thought I would be productive for a few minutes today and started to wash the windows in the truck, but it was in the sunshine and the windex seemed to dry too quickly... at any rate I abandoned the project until "mañana".

Wish more of our airstream friends could be enjoying this with us... but I guess we will suffer a bit longer....

You might be able to sit at just the right angle and bask in our warm sunshine with us! Thanks for following along!

Claudia, we are enjoying it with you. With much much envy. The sunrise/set photos are so peaceful--but I especially like the one of the two shiny pods on the road together. What a combo!
Have fun, be careful, and enjoy that "manana" feeling...

Carol,

Hope you are continuing to recuperate... wish you could have been well enough to join along. San Felipe is a pretty sleepy quiet little place during the off season. Some places aren't open, and others unfortunately have suffered from the economy along with everyone else, but the gulf is constantly doing its thing along with the many sea birds we watch each day as we sit and sip drinks from our lawn chairs.

I am so glad that you folks made it to our sleepy little town. Deb and I live in San Felipe for large part of the winter. I'm due back on Friday. How much longer will you be in town? Ron

I'm sure enjoying following along! Thanks for the beautiful pics - it's been raining here for several days so at least I can dream of warmer weather!
