this is mandie.got positive news today while tending the dogs..all three of moms tb tests came back negative..she is now out of isolation....she is SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!! She has a room with a view of the flooding...lol....Dr. says her lungs sound very clear...leg is doing awsome....all is positive...

Mandie....Talked to your mom on the phone last night. It was good to hear her voice and know that the tests are coming back negative. Now that the rally has been officially cancelled, I'm wondering if it should be removed from the airforums calendar. I know you are busy with your mom and the flooding, but just thought we should stop anyone from thinking it is still scheduled. And....is it possible to get a picture of the flooded scenic park campground?

Pat,this is mandie,I have MANY pictures of a flooded scenic park campground..LOL..Myself and Cynthia helped sand bag the office..There is a foam and cement levee surrounding the park by the road you come in on....But the water is all the way up to my and moms sites...27 and 28...and site 21 has a actual deck attached to it now...lol...all the cabins are under water....will post them when I can...

And just a quick note to everyone...Mom got out of the hospital today...Chad and I are getting her situated and used to many new things.... She will be on,and up and running soon...Talking campers in no time.. ..Thank you all for all the well wishes and prayers...It meant alot to us!!!! Mandie

Hi, just a note, the police called last night, they found my van, we went and picked it up at about 3:30 AM. It is in ok shape praise the Lord!
Everyday, I become a bit stronger, and thanks to everyone for the kind words and prayers!! They sure mean a lot!!!

Was wondering if everyone got there refund from the campground recently? Mandie and I have recieved ours,and some others...Just wanted to make sure that scenic sent everyones out...

How sweet of you to ask!
My check refund arrived recently, amaing when you consider what you all are going through with the flood.
The phrase "God willing and if the creek don't rise" now has a deeper meaning to me.
I was looking forward to seeing you all this weekend. Next year?

Flooded campground update
Just drove through Sioux City and got a look at the formerly green grassy Scenic Park Campground. Sad, really really sad. Mud and drying mud everywhere, with no green grass for water balloon fights, lounging, picnics. It seems selfish to be so heartfelt about a bit of waterfront property, yet it is the great memories that seem temporarily covered in Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska black (gold) soil.
Sue, Mandie, & Cindy - thank you for the 2010 memories.
We look forward to more great times in your amazing town.
Our thoughts are with you as everyone continues to recover.

THey are making such awsome progress on scenic park....they have put in new water lines,new cable lines,new spigets (sp),they just started to reseed it...SSC is doing such a awsome job of getting it ready for next year!!!!!
