Don't forget to sign up for the Iowa Rally! We have seven sites left for this years rally. We have extended the rally to three nights this year to accommodate our campers. We have lots of fun stuff planned, movie night, karaoke night, dancing in the street, Cowboy hat contest, sightseeing, potluck, fireworks on the river, hot air balloons on the river, and lots of free time to take a look around. We are excited, we have company coming from the vintage groups,and the Airstream groups, we are thrilled, plus we have just lots of nice folks coming. Come join us, lots of fun to be had

Mandie informs me that the brand new museum opened this weekend, for those who like to learn the history of the area.

Hey everybody...Its only 78 days left til the Chuck Wagon Rally of 2011..Mom,Cynthia and I have been all a flutter lately...With rally meetings,campground go throughs,and hostess chats...So much to do and not alot of time to do it..We are LOVIN every minute of it...Moms doin a AWSOME job of putting this together... Its gonna be Great come july.....So many fun suprises and things to come....YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Went to the campground tonight...They have moved all the monthly rigs off the peninsula (sp) by the baseball fields and put them over in the actuall campground...The peninsulan is flooded up to the road...The river is high...Took pictures...Gonna see if I can get them posted....

Ok, I have some news, I am sorry but there will be no Karaoke on Sat. night. I have tried, and tried to contact the fellow, he doesn't reply. I am thinking maybe he was offered a bigger event for that night, so we are moving on from there, sorry to those who wanted it.

I am kind of thinking this is turning into a camp-out, with several activities, and hope you don't all mind??? Let me know, what you think!

Who will tell the most unusual thing that has happened to them, while camping, or towing their trailer?? During the campfire?

Norm and Julia, are bringing their ice-cream maker, anyone else?

I am excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found someone to actually tear off old hitch from van, put on new one, and put a two inch ball on it.

After all this time, and everyone refusing to deal with it,I finally went to an old hitch place my husband and I used, 20-30 years ago. Some of you have seen my van, as everyone calls it the Beast, It is a sight to behold, BUT, I don't care,lol Whoever put the hitch on before I got it welded it on there, right next to tha gas tank, not a good idea!

I am just thankful I will have something to tow my trailer for now!! Besides, it runs good, and is paid for lol, It is a Hippy van

. The hitch had to be ordered and will be here maybe monday. I had them get a frame hitch to make sure it was safe!!

Mom,who cares what the "BEAST" looks like...It goes vroom vroom and is gonna be able to pull the winnie and campy...I am sooooooo happy for you,that you found someone to put a hitch on there...Now we will never see mom or the campers...hahahahahahaha.....

Hello all,just wanted to give a shout out to mom....Wanted to say awsome job for getting the van a brand spankin new trailer hitch and receiver..And all the lights work for hooking up the trailer....Her tow vehicle is lookin awsome..

.. Plus with her trailer,that is coming around the bend,she will be styling and profilling..No grass will grow under her feet...She is ready to hit the open road....Again...AWSOME JOB MOM!!!!

As you know I am watching the river, we are having flooding in the low lying areas. Tonight they said, they are bringing in dirt for Riverside, where I live, to try and keep flood waters out. They said, that this will be the worse flooding in 54 years, so I am a bit concerned. The campground is 1/3 under water, and going up, South Sioux City, is planning flood preparedness. They say they are letting more water out of the Yankton Dam, which will raise the water here, we will just wait and see, and will keep you posted!!

Mandie just called, and said, they updated the news on water levels. I live about five miles from Dakota Dunes, they are pretty much cleaning their houses out,and will be evacuated in the next few days. Sioux City is now suppose to have 3-4 feet over flood stage.
I will be moving Mandies camper to higher ground this next week. Mandie and I were talking, she decided as long as the dogs and I are safe, the house doesn't mean much, and I agree!! She is so sweet! I figure what will be will be, I am not going to stop a river

Anyway, the Rally is kind of up in the air, but we are ready and excited about it! We have all our ducks in a row, and watch the campground daily. Those of you that are familiar with the campground, the part that is yearly rentals is under water, the walking bridge to that area is under water, and one of the rental cabins is flooded so far.
I don't want to seem overly dramatic here, I just don't know what to tell you all. I am hoping the Rally will be on, and pass the hotdogs LOL
Is anyone else dealing with the flood situation in the group?

Mom is so right,I did say that her and the dogs are more important than the house or "CAMPY" any day...THose things can be replaced,mom and the dogs can't...Goin home from work yesterday (from south sioux) the water is up to the interstate,and has taken over the soccer fields and alot of scenic park....South sioux is bracing to get flooded....The Dakota dunes are being evacuated and people are taking there things and goin to higher ground..They are already flooded....Mom bein out in Riverside scares me...The river is ready to go over the banks..They said that we are to be at least 7 ft over flood stage by Friday..ANd its just the beginning....Please pray for mom and the people around here....Thank you!!!
