Amish Country Rally in Wooster Ohio, April 5-8, 2012
So who wants to have a rally in Amish Country Ohio in Wooster again?
Those that came last year, do you want to do it again? Newbies interested? Should a year or two be skipped before having it again?
Currently, the Wooster Fairgrounds (same place as last year) are reserved for April 5-8, 2012 (changed from the original April 20-22). Until a certain time, that could probably be moved but slots fill up early.

Man did this catch my eye.
No idea if I could make it, but this area was one of our favorite day trip areas when be lived in N. Ohio. MANY MANY motorcycle trips including Holmes Cnty, Kidron, Charm, Millersburg, Berlin and anywhere that we pointed the bike. Many fond memories. I still try to get a ration of Swiss cheese and Trail Bologna when ever I can arrange it. Not directly in the area but Dover and the Warther Museum was a favorite.
Wow.

Put your vote on the list!
For us, we live here all the time. I knew it would be a hit for at least one year but would people really come back for it every year? I don't know. Someone of our family goes shopping every weekend somewhere in Amish country. Trail bologna is a favorite of mine, but somehow if I eat it for every meal then I gain waist size like I'm a baloon...don't know how that happens. I pass Amish buggies every day on my way to work, so for me they're almost a nuisance. For others they're "neat". So if people want to come and visit, I'll host the rally. Last year we had people come all the way from Florida.
As for motorcycles...I am on a temporary but long-term hiatus. Right now, kids and Airstreaming are #1 and #2; sometimes #2 and #1, respectively. I've been bike-less for 1.5 years know and I'm coping. Springtime hurts when all the bikes hit the roads, but then I get an Airstream out of the barn and I feel better.

Yup, I remember that. Hopefully we have the rally again in 2012 and you can make it all the way.

Hey Jason,
We had a really great time this year and would love to attend again in 2012. It works out as a really good season opener for us.

We vote YES
Hey Jason,
We were lucky to have been at the Wooster Rally last year, and we had a great time. We really enjoyed the town with the Rubbermaid store, and especially the Amish hardware store Lehman's. The fairgrounds were nice for camping and there's a nice indoor dining hall. Breakfast was delicious with sausage gravy an breakfast casserole. We are looking forward to kicking off the 2102 camping season with Jason and his family and the Airstreamers.

Bumping this thread...
Now that it's winter and 2012, I'm sure everyone is thinking of their camping plans in the coming year. If you're interested in doing the Wooster / Ohio / Amish country rally again or if it would be your first time in 2012, please chime in!

The dates aren't set in stone yet, so don't remove this thread from your subscribed list. There are dates mentioned in the original post of this thread which are indeed reserved. But, those could change based on the schedule of the fairgrounds and that of the organizers.

Now that our little guy is here and already has 13 states under his belt at 6 months old. It sure would be nice to get #14. Count us in, we will be following the thread to see what the hard date is.

Wow. I wish I had that kind of time to travel! I seem to recall that you were planning to come last year but couldn't make it once the dates came near? Will be great to have another new face this year.

No plans yet for those dates , so as of now we are in. All depends on work schedule and other obligations not scheduled yet.

We had a great time last year and look forward to participating again this year. I'm already on the lookout for good AS-related gifts for the gift exchange

I'm glad to see someone mention the trailer park gift exchange that we did last year. I was contemplating whether it would be good to do that again this year.

By all means, please do. We were hesitant about participating, thinking it would just be silly, but it was one of the most enjoyable "get-togethers" during the event - so much fun once the "stealing" began! We "lost" our initial gift during the stealing, but wound up with a lovely small hand-turned bowl that still resides in our camper, and always will.
