We are thinking about coming up from Georgia.... Trying to decide if kids would love it or not! I did call the information number on the site and they were so nice there. The site says kids are free with adult admission, ut they don't specify whether it is one child per adult etc. For what it is worth, you can bring as many kids under fifteen as you want, as long as they all sleep in your trailer with you!

That's too funny! That would be the old woman in the shoe, trick! I've never been to this but the pictures I've seen of the event last year, show a lot of people brought their kids. Kids are cool!!!

Planning to be There!

Danielle and I are planning to be there for all 5 days. We also scheduled service at JC for the Friday before Memorial Day.

I don't know if we'll hang around in JC over the weekend or explore some other sights in the area. If anyone else is around (or within driving distance) for Memorial Day let us know. We're planning to see the Air Museum (I think it's in Dayton), The Wilds would be interesting. We saw the Space Museum last time we were in JC. Oh yeah, we want to see the Bicycle Museum. Other ideas?

Thanks, Lucius

It looks like we will be going as well. My wife and son will most likely all ready be in Indianapolis for the Indy 500 while my daughter and I are at the Georgia Unit Buddy Rally. We can leave the rally, pick up wife and son in Indy, and arrive in time for Alumapalooza. I have heard a lot of great stories about the last one and our family wants to experience it for ourselves.

Craig:

I will be leaving Indy on Tuesday to head to JC with my 7 year old son. My wife has to work and will join us on Thursday or Friday. If I can help with bringing your wife and son along let me know. Indy to JC is about 2.5 hours. I will have my crew cab truck and plenty of room. You can send me a PM if you want to take me up on the offer.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at our first Alumapalooza.

We will have our seven, almost eight year old son with us for the whole week. I am sure all the kids will have a great time. I have been told that in JC there is a Dairy Bar within walking distance from the factory about a 1/2 hour walk. I look forward to everything including the factory tour as my son will enjoy that as well. I think we will head to Dayton and visit the Air Museum one day.

The HenHouse will be clucking down the road, headed for its second Alumapalooza rally. Will be there the entire time. It better not be almost 100 degrees again this year...just sayin. Had a great time last year and looking forward to more.

Me too! Lakeside is only 2.2 miles from my house...doesn't get any closer than that!

Shari, I'm jealous! Jim and I would have loved to attend both Palooza & Fandango in the same year but Fandango conflicts with another great Colorado activity...the Telluride Film Festival. Labor Day weekend can be good, or just too good, with so many great activities! Will we see you this year at the Airstream Vintage Restoration event in ABQ?

Bummer...too bad we can't just rally-hop from one great event to another!

No, not this year. We're done with our resto (as you know!) so that one will be relegated to an "occaisional event" for us. So many rallies, so little time!

We are thinking of attending Alumapalooza , sans trailer as ours is undergoing a reno. We live in NH are hoping to do some sightseeing on the way out. Niagra Falls and Mammouth Caves are on the list, any other suggestions? Does Fletcher's Trailer Sales have retail store (NY)? Best routes to take?

I'm a little confused--is everyone here talking about going to Alumapalooza or are some folks only talking about going to Alumafandango?

We are pretty excited about Alumapalooza. We had to cancel out last year (job issues), so this year, we're psyched that we'll be going with our trailer all fixed up! If anyone else is going from the mid-Atlantic area, be sure to let us know. We're planning to go to Somerset, PA on Sunday, camp for two nights, then head West.

I think I may go. I watched the video from last year. Do think that the field everyone is parked in would support a 17000 lbs motorhome? I seem to get stuck every time I'm on a wet grassy field.

They have large farm tractors to assist anyone who has traction problems. I have seen plenty of motorhomes, both at Alumapalooza and at the similar Homecoming events that preceded Alumapalooza.
