This was a great idea. I'd love to compare the map of attendees at Alumapalooza vs. Alumafandango in Denver.

There's so much to do at Alumapalooza that at some point you need to take a nap.

It was another great year.

our first Alumapalooza was a blast! in spite of a couple of last minute work issues for my wife, a really late start, and a flat tire on our tow vehicle on the way, once we got there it was all worth while. so much to see and do, next year we are planning on the whole week. entertainment was great!

Ohh La-La Alumapalooza Three

Neither wind, rain or chill could put a damper on this year's reunions and new friendships forged. Thank you Airstream, Airstream Life, and all the volunteers who put this event together for us.

Loved getting to meet the Silver Sisters out of Oregon who trekked through 2600 miles of ooohs and aaaahs across the good 'ol USA to JCOH. Had a great time watching the Backup Derby with you! Here's a shout out to the only lady backer-upper to participate the event...you done us girls proud!

Here's a great idea for next year....

How about a Saturday afternoon "Pet Parade". Yappy Hour was a great addition on Tuesday and I think our pets are up to a parade as well. We can bring treats to pass out at the end.

Thought I'd share a couple of pictures. For more, just facebook me at
Kelly Kupiec

I've accepted my new Silver Sisters - Midwest nickname "Laverne"

Only 363 more days to go until next time. KK

Just a few more

We all know the hustle and bustle to get everything packed for a road trip and getting to Alumapalooza was no different for me this year. EXCEPT after I unhitched, set my jacks, opened my door and had some folks want a quick look-see so I let 'em in. After fiddling around a little more on the outside, I went inside the Hen House to see that my son had so thoughtfully placed a handicap plaque on my bed. It dawned on me then that perhaps I should have drowned him at birth.

I am back home in CA and wanted to give a special thanks to everyone who made my first Airstream event so wonderful. In spite of a canceled flight from CHI to Dayton, reroute to Cincy, rained out Open House on Friday, and not even owning an Airstream....YET... it was an awesome event. It is such fun to be surrounded by so many people who understand what the heck I am talking about when I say Airstream or Alumapalooza!

I was made to feel so welcome by everyone. Special thanks to the TrailerChix from OR, Doug and Terri, Reg and Steve, Cindy and Scott, Rich (and his Newbie book), Brenda and Butch, David W., and all my other new AS friends, for being helpful and encouraging to me as I continue this Grand Adventure. The organizers were very helpful and able to adapt quickly to the Ohio weather I grew up with in the Akron/Lodi areas.

In one of my airport stops on my way home, I checked online and found the type of AS that was recommended to me by Doug. Funny thing is...it was only 15 minutes from where I live so I checked it out on my way home from the airport! Gotta love it!

Take care all,
Karen

Just curious!

Hi, just curious; I'm sure that many of these questions can't be answered because no-one was taking a tally of these things.

How many Airstreams were there? [trailers / motorhomes]

How many people were there? [adults / kids]

How many pets were there? [dogs / cats / Etc]

How many generators were there? [Red / Blue / other / contractors]

How old was the oldest person there?

How old was the youngest person there?

How many tires exploded in-route?

How many of each popular brand of hitch were there?

I love everything in Gloria's place.. but I really like the clock she made from a canister and the poster/photo of the camel pulling an airstream (mirror image) by her front doorway.
Thanks for the inside view.

Thumbs up

Bob,
I talked to one of the organizers, and they said there 174 Airstreams on site. Can't be specific about the rest of the numbers, because it didn't occur to me to count. There were lots of pets. We brought our cat. Two of our neighbors had three dogs each. They even had a "Yappy Hour" for dogs. I don't know about the youngest kid, but a couple we know had their 3 month old daughter with them. They joked that she may have been conceived at last year's Alumapalooza. Quite a few kids were there considering school hasn't let out yet. All kinds of hitches, and lots of Hensleys. The entertainment was excellent

Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

Bob, I think there were about 25 trailers in the "smoking section". We had a pair of Honda 2000's, the next neighbor down had a Yamaha, our neighbor on our other side had a Honda 3000, there was a pair of those yellow Chinese 6000 watt generators. Farther around the area, there was another Honda 2000, another pair of 2000's, and a couple of others. One guy behind us had a Honda 2000 as backup for his Kypor. We also brought along a new Dometic 3000i for demonstration and sale, and sold it at the swap meet.

Hi Janie,
Gloria's place was outstanding. That art sounds like a print by Michael Depraida. He does a lot of Airstream art, and spends winters at Slab City. We visited him while we were there last year. He's quite an interesting character. I just won that same print on a tee shirt as a door prize at Alumapalooza. We also have his "Trailer Trash' print. They are both in the link below:
