Alumapalooza 2011 ??

We are within a few short months of retirement and have high hopes of traveling the country with an Airstream. We are considering a trip to Ohio for the Alumapalooza event. So here is the this event worth a trip from S. Florida to Ohio? We have already had many conversations with Airstreamers and that has been a learning experience. But I think we would be more interested in the factory tour and seminars...anything that would be a learning experience for future trips. To those of you who have attended this event, please give us your thoughts. Thanks a lot !

Ohio is having a few great events right around that time frame. Alumapalooza should be great, and the WBCCI Spirit of Cleveland National Rally is right after it.

I'll be at both! Welcome to the forums.

The best reason for attending ANY AS rally is the opportunity to talk with Airstream owners. To get many of them together is a real bonus! You'll discover once you start traveling, it isn't common to run into other AS owners in campgrounds. Occasionally, one or two might be there but even that is rare! Then on top of the conversations you might have, to see and hear so mnay seminars would be a godsend. One of the things we tried to do before buying our first AS was to attend small rallies where we knew AS owners would be. Learning experiences is what we wanted and we got them the same way you can pick them up attending such a big group. (Any you might find a really great price on a vintage AS if you are looking that way). Good luck and safe travels if you decide to head north.

We went last year, and are looking forward to going again this year. We had a great time, met some really outstanding characters, and took the factory tour (for the second time). The seminars are informative, but talking to other Airstream owners was the real learning experience for me. Here are some pictures. The first of which is my wife trying her hand at riveting.
Hope to see you there.

We had sooooo much fun last year. The seminars are very informative, and the factory is so gracious. Everyone is just a blast to be with. This is a "must attend" for us. This year we are signed up for the entire week.

We are looking forward to Aumapalloza 2011 and uniting with the many friends we met at last years event. We also look forward to seeing the friendly staff at the Airstream Store where we always leave with something new and exciting to add to our Airstream Life style.
The Service Center is also one of our yearly Maintenance stops where we always leave satisfied with the service and work preformed by the highly skilled technicians.
We also look forward to seeing the Vendors again and add to our collection of the finest Airstream theme collectables.
A tour of the factory is a must and enjoying time with Bob Wheeler, Larry Huddle and all the Airstream folks that make this Rally so special. This year we will be entertained by Antsy McClain and the Troubadours who we requested last year to be at the 2011 Rally.
Rich Luhr and all the Airstream Life Staff have put together another event this year that will be exciting, entertaining and informative with the seminars planned.
Looking forward to seeing Michael Depraida "Airstream Art", Kristiana Spaulding and her Fabulous Silver collection of Airstream Jewelry and David Winick "Airstream Masterpieces"

I wonderr if AS will mention their 2 longtime employees that just retired. There was an article about them in the Blue Beret, on retired at I think 40 or 50 years at AS. zz

We too are looking forward to being there. This will be our first alumpalooza, or any -pallooza for that matter. But not our first trip to the factory. See you there.

I signed up for the entire week, looking forward to making some new friends, learning new things, and hopefully meeting some friends from the forums there as well. I am also meeting up with a group to caravan from northern WV on into Jackson Center after spending Memorial Day weekend at Robert Newlon Airpark/ RV Park in Huntington, WV. They are having a sky diving show on Saturday the 28th and they are a Good Sam Park as well. Maybe some of you would be interested in that? The caravan is being led by Doug Doberer and will leave out from the Huntington? Walmart Super Center at 9am on May 30th. Details about the caravan are on the Alumapalooza website as well as Doug's contact info. See you there!

Mr. Rivet & I attended last year and will return this year. We will be traveling from Central Florida (not retired) and can tell you it is well worth the effort. Not only will you be more than full-filled from the seminars but your travels to and from will be more than worth the effort. Remember . . .

We wander for distraction. But we travel for fulfillment.
