tempting! We're planning a trip up to Niagara Falls this summer, might be able to swing this on the way back. 3 Amps? That's gonna be tight! Our fridge is 110 only!

Well, if you show up, we'll have two bunkhouses for sure. We won't have any special sections other than vendor and generator, but people who arrive together can park together. Hope to see your bunkhouse there!

Anybody know how cell service is from the site? Specifically Verizon.
We may be able to come if there is strong cell service. Jerry has to work.

When there for 2 days in July, I recall using our Verizon cell phones and aircard without problem. Don't recall the exact signal strength, but I didn't have to use my amplifier.

I experienced good Verizon signal strength on both my Aircard and Phone.

Yes, Verizon does work fairly well outside buildings in Jackson Center. There's also free wifi in the Service Center and reachable outside in certain areas.

Single 'Streamers have a spot on the schedule Tuesday at noon under a tent
Hi everyone I contacted Rich and he was kind enough to put us on the schedule.
I am the point of contact so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please post them here. If we handled it like a rally happy hour - bring your own chair, beverage and a dish that would be the easiest way.
Again thanks Rich for helping us have an organized space to meet at.
Lin.

For those of you that are keeping track, we just registered our 70th trailer! So if you were thinking it was going to be a small gathering, guess again! All the cool kids are coming Go register at Airstream Life » Airstream Life’s “Alumapalooza 2010″ and get your spot saved for a good time in Jackson Center.
I will have an answer on the portable shower unit this week.
Anyone that is waiting on this info can ping me at brett@alumapalooza.com and I will add you to the list for a response.

I'm new to this rally stuff. What do I need for 3 amp hook up? I have only heard of 30 & 50 amp.
Thanks,

3 amp.
This is only enough to keep your batteries charged. Everything else runs on 12 v. or propane. If you have a generator to use, then you must request to be in the "generator" area to camp.

Hi Myrna
There's nothing to it. You'll use your regular power cord plus a little adapter for plugging into a standard 120v AC plug (pick one up at Wal-Mart or any RV store). The "3 amps" simply means that although you're plugged into AC, the amount of juice you can use is very limited. You'll be sharing a single 15 amp circuit with three other trailers, so everyone gets 3.75 amps max.
That means no AC appliances (think microwave, air conditioner, toaster, etc.) But the power will be enough to keep your batteries charged. Anything that runs on 12v DC power will be fine to use during the event.
To keep electrical draw low, we ask everyone who can to run their refrigerators on the "GAS" setting only (not "AUTO").
This sort of shared electric system usually works out just fine at rallies. But if you have a need to run some sort of AC appliance (like a CPAP machine), you should opt for the "Generator" section instead.
See you there!
- Rich

Cpap
Hi Rich and all,
I run a CPAP every night. I am pretty sure that it will run at least 3-4 nights on 12v. If there are others out there that have to have a CPAP they may need to look up a 12v. adapter that will allow them to plug it into the 12v. outlets. Mine cost about $25. but it is well worth the cost. My manual says:
AC power consumption is 1 amp.
DC power on 12 v. is 3.0 amp maximum.
