We pulled out of Jackson Center this morning at 6:00. I have the impression that it rained most of the night. Excellent dust control and free trailer washes seemed to take place each day. We are lost somewhere in Indiana and hope to make it home in time to start planning for our return next year. I have now been there, done that and got the tee shirt. I will not miss next year and I plan to bring more friends if at all possible. Thank you for having us and thank you Bert and Marge for joining us. See you next year

Wednesday's Photos

Front ends of our row the first evening we arrived.

The only Class C Airstream. 1 of 1. Some great folks own this vehicle and it will be on the road a long time.

Some dark clouds as the line of thunderstorms passes to our south.

I've been following the Tour of America and Man in the Maze blogs for years. This is the first time I've seen the Luhr trailer in person.

More threatening clouds.

Thursday's Photos

We woke to morning fog.

Rich and Brett help park the new arrivals.

Sean & Kristy of The Long Long Honeymoon busy at work filming footage of artist Michael Depraida for a future blog segment.

Airstream brought out their Bowlus Road Chief and parked it next to John Long's restored mid-1930s Bowlus Road Chief. John's was in worse shape when he started the restoration 10 years ago.

David Winnick chats with a visitor in front of his vintage Airstream.

Sean & Kristy always at work.

A nice evening for a propane campfire.

A nice view of Mars over my trailer.

Michael Depraida's crazy neon lights.

Brett's motorhome and Rich's trailer as the sky starts to glow red.

Another great vintage Airstream.

Nobody seems to know how to spell Alumapalooza. Note the spelling on the blue tote.

Saturday Photos

Airstream employees prepared a great lunch for the attendees.

Airstream brought some new trailers and B-vans hot off the line for the attendees to browse.

Can Am RV allowed visitors to take a test run of a Volkswagen Jetta TDI towing a Flying Cloud 23.

The spot showers were making the field soft and another inch of rain was forecast for Saturday night. Quite a few folks moved their rigs to pavement on Saturday evening.

Sunday Morning

Those with 2-wheel drive had a tractor pull their trailer to the pavement to avoid getting stuck.

Even with 4-wheel drive I did some slipping.

More Photos

The rally was fantastic. I've posted 75 photos in a web gallery for everyone's enjoyment. There's a button on the top of the page to download all the photos in one zip file or you can pick and choose. Best of all, there's a button to upload your own photos to the gallery. This has worked to create a wonderful portfolio of images from past rallies including the 50th Anniversary Capetown to Cairo Rally and The Wilds Rally last year. Here are the rally photos. Enjoy. http://web.mac.com/skmentz/Airstream

Panoramics

Here's a panoramic from the roof that I stitched together using 8-10 photos.

And another from the ground.

Awesome photos, Steve! Thanks for posting them. We'll have another photo album on our new Alumapalooza website in a few weeks.

We're still in the Terra Port in JC. There's a bit of an "after party" going on here. Great small-town parade down Pike Street this afternoon, and ten of us went out for dinner at The Spot in Sidney tonight. A few more things to do tomorrow, then we'll be on the road again.

great

Beautiful pictures, Steve! Thanks! We had a good time meeting everyone at the Alumapalooza. We are having a bit of an after party at our house too. Looks like a few of us Ohioans will welcome kingfisher24 from TX tomorrow. Anyone else who wants to drop by should feel welcome to stop on in. Sounds like a good reason to have a picnic and maybe a campfire...IF the rain stops!!! LOL!!
Thanks again for the fun pictures!

Dennis, When looking at your photo I see there is a group all by themselves on the left side of the field. What is the story behind that? Is that the penalty box?
