No better thread to be posting on for the number 3,000 too!
I have received my quotes from two places I have inquired on for catering. Both places are exceeding what I needed to have it at in order to cover other things for the rally. Quotes so far have been $15 and $18 per head. I have a few ideas to play with the menu that I can cater. I cater my families 4th of July and Thanksgiving every year...this should be nothing. Is there anyone with any food allergies I should be aware of?
A nailed down menu will be coming forthright soon. Stay tuned.
Here are 3 versions of the embroidery design. I was hoping to show them off on fabric but Murphy seems to have gotten bored following Kevin around and is now haunting my embroidery machine. Until it has a dr. visit, you will have to be content viewing the paper templates.
Comments please. Which one do you like best. And what might be nice to change. I haven't decided yet where this is going. Steve suggested towels. May also do a tote bag or two.

THOSE ARE AWESOME!
I like them all. I like the idea of the gold "50" in there, but all of them look nice. Kudos to you McFamily (Allison), and I hope to see more in the future. Can I happily supply you a sweatshirt or two to experiment on?
I want to make a Missouri/Illinois picture with the route drawn on it. Then put 1959 over the Africa, and 2009 over the MO/IL with a 50 below it. Maybe not embroidery, but something.

Will probably make a few of each for prizes. That's about all I have time/patience for with my home embroidery machine. Of course if you all would get together and buy me a commercial machine I could do alot more!
The Africa outline is designed to be an applique. Depending on the background color I will probably use orange or brown fabric for it.
I will call my machine doctor on Monday and hope he is not on vacation. I usually get them back from him within a week.
As many of you know, I am quite artistically challenged, and have no programs on my computer that would allow me to even attempt something like I am about to ask.
I took Pee Wee's original menu, and spent about an hour removing the names that had been traced over the palm tree. I am hoping someone could take what I have here, and make it so all the wording looks nice, and the same. This is not a dead set menu, but it is getting pretty close.
In spirit of Wally's Birthday I am posting about the rally. I received a couple more registrations which brings us up to Nine registered for the rally. I have spoken with several others that plan to make it or are hoping to, but cannot commit right now. I am expecting to see a boost somewhat from Pee Wee's discussions at the International over the past week. Many WBCCI members who don't frequent the forums may have interest, and sign up soon. September 11th is getting close, and we'll be in a caravan down the road together.
Awesome...that will surly help. I really believe that the closer it gets you Will be bombarded with reservations.... including mine....lol....We hope to have ours to you in a couple of weeks.

Today I booked travel for our VIP (Very Important Pee Wee). Bother Pee Wee and Oldtrucksrul contacted me about a super sale at Southwest Airlines. I was able to book travel well below what other non stop flights were going to cost. Thanks to Cory and Pee Wee for informing me about the low fares.
