According to Pee Wee this is Don Christie (then WBCCI #1986), a retired Bank President from Carmel, IN. Don and his wife Genevieve were official African Caravan participants and completed the full caravan (some folks dropped out early).

Considering that the trip crosses into into the state lines approximately one minute into the journey, it may not be a good idea. There will be police everywhere stopping the traffic for us. If someone did this...we wouldn't need the boys in blue to do it for us.

I received email from the Shawnee Complex manager. We will have full use of the restrooms at the park. Your black tanks be saved!

I can't specifically say why. I don't think Pee Wee ever stated why.

But I will mention that I have heard (no first hand knowledge) that when ships cross the equator (Navy or commerical) there can be a type of "hazing" that is applied to "virgins" (i.e. those who are crossing the equator for the first time). Maybe that tradition was somehow recreated on the caravan.

EDIT: I just found this comment from Pee Wee about this incident: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f492...tml#post555602

Cool! My black tank valve is jammed in the open position ... I.E. not useable. (No ice cube cleaning).

The Tradewind is hitched and ready to go. Poor Lulu Sugarfoot has to spend this trip in the K9 hotel and spa. So off to the kennel than heading northwest in a couple of hours.

See y'all there!

We're up and Amy is making breakfast. Pee Wee told me he would be up with the sun, but no stirring yet from his room. Hope he gets up soon since we need to head to the Arch early this morning. I tried getting him to do the Budweiser tour instead, but he wanted the Arch.

Amy and I got our cooking done at 11:41 last night, and laid down right at midnight. Woke up on our own around 6:45. Still need to pack the trailer!

See ya'll there this afternoon/evening/tomorrow.

Loaf...just keep me posted via text on your travel down for dinner.

Steve

Good to know ...
By the way, I've nailed down the "veggie slop" for the potluck as you so quaintly put it.
It will be 2 of the following 3 dishes ... spinach salad w/egg, fake bacon, green onions, & a selection of dressings ... portabella mushroom ravioli w/lightly garlic seasoned pesto sauce, or fettuccine alfredo w/garlic cream sauce w/broccoli florets and sliced baby portebella mushrooms.
Hope you can choke it down ...
Bob

PS Got a hold of my great niece who goes to college at the Cape ... she has no wheels and I no cell but trying to hook up at least on saturday.

Well I'm at Shawnee Park - where is everybody? Don't think this was mentioned earlier but you want to take x95 off I55 and go east to Minnesota Ave where you'll turn right. Just talked to one of the guys who works here and they are going to be playing soccer tonite so might be a bit noisy early.

Thanks for the invite, Bob----we were in Michigan, are now in eastern Ohio nearly to the WVa/PA lines, heading into NY State.

Have a great time without us---someone please drink a toast to the joys of all things travel.
