Yesterday I was contacted by the Cape Girardeau News paper in regards to the Cape to Cairo Caravan and Rally. Today, they published a short article on the event. While some of the facts are off a little, it is still a nice read for people unfamiliar with the event both in 1959 and 2009.
Steve we also added the money for our shirts to the total we are sending you. Jack wants a shirt also..so put us down for 2 XXL instead of 1....Thank you
That reminds me ....the other morning I was drinking coffe in my XXXXL Tshirt that I like to sleep in.......Our grandson came over and said... "Whats that shirt grandma?" ....I said "It's my night shirt" ..... he said......Go put on a day shirt! ...hahahahhaha
Shirt orders to have them by the rally were due by the 21st. Sugarfoot had ordered an extra XXL of the Africa shirt that she will let Jack take it instead.
We also received some shirts from Sean and Kristy Michael of the Long Long Honeymoon since they couldn't make the trip to be here with us.
For Thursday, anyone arriving early can pick up their info packet and see some sights around Cape Girardeau. I would like to organize a meal at a local establishment that evening for those who want to attend.
Friday morning can be for sight seeing around Cape as a group or on your own. There are many things to see that are very close to the departure point, and we can carpool if needed. The caravan will depart Cape Girardeau at 1200 high noon. Please ensure you have eaten or have your food packed to eat en route. Everyone planning to boon dock please let me know so I can let the City parks department know. They want to make sure we are taken care of.
A detailed ittenerary will be distributed after September 1st.
Steve

You all are going to have soooo much fun. James and I couldn't attend this party because we have a family reunion in Kansas the same time. So our silver twinkie will be going to Kansas. But, we will see most of you at the Branson, MO rally in October.
Steve,
I've noticed that several of your thread posts are "double posting". When I read your response to the Cape newpaper article, it likewise "double posted". You are probably already aware of this, and I often have to hear/read things twice before I "get it", but wanted to mention just in case you hadn't.
There is a remote chance we will arrive on Thursday evening. Don't count on us but I wanted to let you know there is a chance.
