my First Rally!

Hey I think I may actually make it to this one! I will have just relocated to Brunswick. This will be my first rally -- do I need to do anything special? Hayley

Hey Hayley!

No, you don't have to do anything "special." Just coming to the rally would be pretty special, though!

Richard , what is the situation with parking ? IIRC the AS will be trapped behind the bandstand for a day or two . Do we park somewhere else so we can move about ?

Hey Bob,

I'll be contacting everyone this weekend with the little details of the rendezvous, but here is part of what I sent to Hayley last week:

Although it says there is no entry on Saturday morning, I don’t think it would be a problem getting in before 8 A.M. before everything is set up for the concert.

Once the stage and vendors are set up, the access is blocked, so if you think you will need to drive somewhere on Saturday it is recommended that you park your tow vehicle up in the parking lot. Last year, one couple went out to dinner on Friday night, but that was about it. Once things get going on Saturday, there are food vendors, a wine & beer garden, a short hiking path right to the convenience store (and the winery), ect. Who would want to leave?

So basically, if your tow vehicle is in the camping area, as opposed to the parking lot, after 9 or 10 O'Clock Saturday morning it would be difficult to get it out before Saturday at midnight or maybe Sunday morning. The "parking lot" isn't very far away (it's on one side of the soccer field, we're on the other side) and no one had a problem last year.

...Richard

I thought it was high time I weighed in regarding this particular rally experience.

Last year we were parked less than 25 feet from EVERYTHING. If you wanted a closer look at the group playing the music permeating the summer air you just wandered up in front of the stage.

If you were hungry and smelled something good you followed your nose to the vender in question. Some great Cajun chicken and pulled pork dishes were available. We were parked next to the wine and beer garden where tables were set up with colorful umbrellas and sipping your wine within was like a summer in Tuscany.

I relived my 60’s days dressing down in flowing comfortable clothes, carried a paper parasol to keep the sun off my face and danced with Donal and Amanda to a great variety of music.

We were surprised and delighted by the surprise Airstreamers who just showed up!!! How wonderful is that! We encourage anyone who hasn’t signed up to do the same.

Have a great time jivin' to the music!

We'll have to miss the celebration this year as well, but we have a very important appointment Sunday in Pennsylvania -- we're picking up Tess, a one year old wire fox terrier. (Hope she likes Bubbles.)
