Who's going to Gillette this summer?
We just got home from our Georgia Unit WBCCI rally this weekend and we're excited about planning to go to our first International Rally.
Are any of you Argosy owners out there going? If so, I hope we can hook up. We will plan to camp with the Vintage group.
We've got to get an awning and get our windows protected from rocks before we go.
Beth

Beth and Chris,
My wife and I have bought the tickets for the International rally and we are in the throes of getting our 27' 1978 Argosy ready for the trip. We are getting "the beast" painted the end of this month. We have updated the interior and working on the appliances so they will work. We are set to go be in the vintage section at the rally. Hope to see you there also.

Can't make it
We would so love to be making that trip. I think it will be a slightly different kind of International rally with some of the new things planned.
Have to keep my business running, so we are unable to get the time away this summer. It's all short trips for us.
Have a wonderful time.

I originally posted this under the Argosy section because I wanted to know about Argosy owners going. How does something get moved to a different thread?

Beth&Chris and jjustice; glad to see you're coming to Gillette.
You'd be welcome to park and join in the fun with the Vintage Intra-club at the International !!
I've posted links to the discussion thread on the Rally Rendezvous here and in the 'Upcoming Rallies" here.
Hope to see you there.

When I look at the info on AS Forum it calls out the dates of 6/25 and 6/26. But when I go to the Cam-Plex website it says 6/26 to 7/4. Needless to say, I'm a little confused. Can you clear this up for me. Also do you need to be a WBCCI member to attend this rally? What are the fees?

We are!
But I had a detour that may change my plans...I fell off my scooter two weeks ago, broke my knee and tore my ACL - so I hope we're still going!
The dates are 6/26 thru 7/4

We will be heading to Gillette from the Northwest and looking forward to our first International. Also parking in the vintage area. We are finishing up the 68 for the trip.
Sheri, sorry about your knee, you will need one of those scooters now. We met you in Salem Oregon and I'm looking forward to seeing you and your "new trailer"

Hi, TGTwinkie! To address your question about the dates. The 25th and 26th are mentioned since they are specific to the Vintage Club.
We typically start gathering the day before the rally starts and parade in on the first day. I like to think our Vintage Parade is the kick off for the rally getting started!
We spend the remainder of the rally on site in our parking area (6/26-7/4). There are a number of vintage club events that take place throughout the week; lots of social time, some educational presentations and some business meetings for our Intra-club. In addition to the myriad of other things offered by the WBCCI. It can actually get tough deciding what to choose among so many things going on at the same time.

Shari, I hope your knee heals up soon! But, remember, you've got doctor coverage if you come to the rally!

We are definitely planning to be in Gillette by Friday for the 6pm get together and then in the parade Saturday morning. We'll be camping with the VAC also. I think most of our unit friends usually like to hang out with the VAC group anyway.
Looking forward to it.

Here's the link to the main webpage:
http://www.wbcci.org/index.cfm?pageS...national_Rally
In answer to your other questions about being a WBCCI member, it doesn't mention it specifically. But, a rule is that you must wear your WBCCI badge and ribbon at all times and you wouldn't have a badge if you were'nt a member. So, I guess that means you must be a member. Since it is a member international rally, I also assume it is members only. Just join WBCCI and the VAC group. You don't have to belong to a local unit unless you want.
We WANT to see your Argosy there with the vintage group. This will be our first time also.
Beth

Also just a note to all the Argosy owners here--the VAC will be hosting a presentation specifically devoted to the history of the Argosy at the Gillette rally. It will be open to all membership. We'd like to encourage you to attend.
The presentation is excellent. I've seen it once, but would definitely go back again! It was researched and created by our own AirForums member "Overlander64" (Kevin). Don't miss it!

Dallas - We are looking forward to the Argosy presentation.
Take good care of Beth and Chris. They are members of our unit and have a neat Argosy. We will join you for 1 or more happy hours. Hope you will drop by the GA Unit Happy Hour a few times too. We are using our 69 at the Top of GA but the 06 Safari is making the trip west.

Will do, Matt! You know you are also welcome to join us in the Vintage parking area if you wish. We realize that not all vintage units are up for a cross country trip, so even if you bring your newer trailer, you're still welcome to park with us and enjoy the fun. Just a thought. We'll keep in mind the GA Happy Hour, too! Thanks for the invite.

It is good to hear of some that will be in the Vintage section. I am working on curtains this weekend. When my husband is over his cold and the rain goes away he will continue sanding the Argosy in preparation for the painting. This has been a journey for me since 1962 - that is another story.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Fees??
So I join the WBCCI to gain access. How much are the rally fees? I'm guessing this would be for the duration of the gathering.

TG Twinkie; Yes, the rally fee would cover the entire rally from when you arrive (June 25th?) through the close of the rally on July 4th. I don't think you have to leave until the 5th, but don't quote me on that.
Check here for the rally fee as it varies depending on how many in your party.
