Urban Legend

Like many things in life, if something is said enough times true or not, over time it's what everybody begins to believe.

Say that again, are we to meet before or after the tour. If before, where. Too much adult beverages here.

Doug, all the times are still a little loose. The reason for meeting at Mt Vernon is a purely selfish one... Rob Baker and I happened upon some very rare and very cool water decals for Mt Vernon. We both want to tour the site so we can put them on our trailers. I am also hoping that the distillery will be putting out the real product on that day too. Rob and I were just going to do a caravan for kicks after the tour. I thought it would be right to invite anyone else that wants to to join us. The one reason for saying 1:30 is to avoid the traffic as much as possible. It would be post lunch rush that way and we could get out before the rush hour amps up at 3:00. It sure would be cool if you could join us. My intention for this is not to create a huge scene or for it to become anything major, I hope it can just be some guys out taking a spin in their Airstreams.

Yes, I will have my fridge burning while we caravan... the beverages need to stay cold you know.

There will also be a strict dress code policy: Original Wally wear required. Here is what we are expecting...

Historically Correct

Based on that historic photo of Wally, I can see were me wearing an "eye patch" at the 2007 International Rally opening ceremonies was WBCCI historically correct! And to think some people got upset about it . If they only knew the history.

Once again, members of the WDCU staying ahead of the curve.

Hey everybody, my girlfriend and I pick up our first AS tomorrow, 63 Overlander, she has expressed interest in going to the cherry blossom festival, and since we're gonna be newbies, we thought it might be nice to go out with a big group the first time, what do we need to do to get signed up? we'd be coming from knox county, ohio, near mount vernon, any other ohioans? hope to hear from you via the board or private message!

I hope, in seeing Fred posting to this thread, that he is coming too. Fred, I have really enjoyed your visits to the VAP studios and look forward to sitting around campfire and talking more about the history of Airstream. If you are coming, we might want to hold back on talking about how 1962 was the pinnacle of all model years, the guy up north with the 58 Soviegn might feel inferior about his trailer. Sure hope you are coming too...

Space Available?

If there's still space available we'd like to make another stab at attending and send in our registration. What's the latest? Thanks in advance. Dick and Ann

Will we actually go into the DC area as part of this rally. My girlfriend wants to see the blossoms. Or if the group doesn't go, I'm sure we could unhook and go in and see some sights, right? Thanks!

We will be there! Sent in our registration a few weeks ago. Sorry we are going to miss the caravan through DC- sounds fun. We won't be able to get to the rally till Friday. Ugh- work And were the bosses We missed it last year- wanted to make sure we are there this year. Those WDCU guys are just plain fun to party- uh I mean- camp with. Hopefully we will be there in time for happy hour on Friday- but as mentioned earlier- every hour is happy hour when your Airstreaming. We will be in the new trailer- the vintage ones will both be with Colin during that time- getting ready for the big trip this summer.
