2009 The Washington D.C. Caravan
In the tradition of the past a Caravan was planned and executed through Washington D.C.
Rob Baler. trail boss and leader; Frank Yensan and Ava, the caboose.
Here is a picture of those hearty souls taken at Great Falls, VA. From this rendezvous point these individuals recreated a Caravan of epic proportions, through Washington D.C. and around the historic trail around the D.C. mall.
Kudos!

PeeWee - you have quite an eye for photography.
It was great meeting you at CBR. Thanks for sharing your experiences, tales of Wally, and all of those wonderful photographs. I look forward to hearing you speak again at International, and as Jane mentioned, the offer stands.
Best,
Dave

Wow, What a Rally!
I still haven't caught my breath. But I'm doing a good job trying while relaxing at Ride Air's courtesy parking. Then on towards the Kentucky Dogwood and Bluegrass rally Monday. Internet access is touch and go right now, so I'll load pics when I get home next week.
Rob and Frank, the Great Falls to Mt. Vernon Caravan was awesome! Danee and Kim, and to the Roger's, thanks again for another great CBR. PeeWee and Susan, thanks for coming to over to meet some of your eastern Airstream "family". We so enjoyed everything you shared with us.
I wish I'd had a chance to meet everyone, but there is always next year.

Caravan 2009 Cherry Blossom Rally April 1st WDC
Pictures show four of the eight hearty sould making the Caravan through D.C. Shows them on the road. The Marine Mounument at Arlington, VA; and the Jefferson Memorial.
Due to crowds, heavy traffic, it was a visual experience with few pictures around the mall. It was a ball to be back on a Caravan again.
We began at Great Falls, VA, traveled the Mall, had lunch at Mt. Vernon and went on to camp in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Wow!
Thanks Rob, and my Caravaner Frank Yansen, and Ava.

D.C. Caravan April 1, 2009
From the Marine Memorial, Arlington Cemetary, VA; there is a great view of the monuments in Washington D.C.
I took creative element with this shot taken at our Caravan's stop.

Sad to see her go!
We had to say our "Goodbyes" this moring to the woman who lived in our driveway for a week. After spending time with the Waddell's at CBR, she felt she needed a little more time with us. Dacia(Sugarfoot) came to our house on Monday after CBR like others thinking she'd only be here a few days , with the charm of my daughter, the kindness of my wife and unable to find anyone else to help her dump out her black tank(that would be me), she left this morning heading on to the next rally "Down the Road". My wife told me this afternoon Virginia was very upset to see her leave much like us. The running joke all week when we went someplace, "Yeh, she's living in our driveway" which got many looks. We showed Dacia the Shenandoah Valley in a way seen by few (2500AGL with a lot of hot air). She taught my wife how to cook carrots so I would eat them and my daughter how to tie-die Easter Eggs. My family would like to "Thank You" for taking part in our lives and sharing the wonderful blessings this world has to give all of us.
Dacia, you are "ALWAYS" welcomed to come and live in our driveway again!

PeeWee, those are great photos. And we are SO GLAD you caravanned with us through DC. From Capetown to Cairo, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Caravan America with Linda Byrd Johnson ~ you are the quintessential caravanner. Did you ever think you would come out of your caravanning hiatus with a crazy bunch of WDCU'ers through the nation's capital during the noon rush hour? Betcha had fun with us, didn't 'ya.
Hey Obie, I've got a pic for you. Have you ever seen RideAir blow "hot air"?
Of course, we always knew Paul was "out standing in his field".
Paul ~ you, Mary Kim, and Virginia were the ultimate courtesy parking hosts. YOU ROCK! It takes a true friend to help another dump their "poop shoot". Thanks a million for everything!

Great Falls, VA
We all went to the Falls for pictures.
Due to the overcast, this picture was switched to black and white.
