WBCCI numbers
If you become a member of the caravan club are you required to post the numbers on your rig?

Not necessarily. Some folks have put the Big Red Numbers on clear plastic panel and displayed them in the front window of the Airstream.

If you go on a caravan or attend a large regional or national rally you are generally required to have the numbers displayed. As mentioned, many people put them on a sign or something and display it in the window. You are not required to display the numbers to be a member or to attend local events.

You are not required to put the red numbers on the rig. As noted, on caravans and larger rallies, you are asked to display the numbers so that messages, other members, or if needed, emergency responders can find you.

At this years International Rally in Salem, I would estimate that less than 40% of the over 600 units had numbers.

Castaway As we were traveling we seen on the road some without numbers! From the states of NJ, VA, PA,MD,DE,TN I find it odd not to see numbers on Airstream Trailers!
Well on trip down to Memphis, TN i spoke with a fellow and he had no idea about those Red Numbers No Idea/ He said the dealer never told him about the numbers or said a word about them? Sounds Odd To Me, till this day!
A AIRSTREAM DEALER Not Saying ANYTHING?? Before we picked our Airstream Up we had our numbers in Hand!So why in some states do the Dealers mention it and others do not! Well safe travels Maybe one day we'll get a answer on this matter?

My mom used to tell me "Just because everyone's doing it doesn't mean that you should". The numbers are really necessary at WBCCI rallies because many Airstreams look alike. How else are you going to find those friends you made at the meeting?

WBCCI numbers
Displaying the number on a temporary placard is also possible at a rally or whatever.
I don’t display mine on the road as it can be traced back to my home address too easily. In fact I just spent a lot of time cleaning off the remains of our old number. If i need to display one it will be on two pieces of plexiglas neatly hung on the back awning edge and front awning edge.

The funny thing is that half the people don't want to put numbers on their new Airstream and the other half want to know what they can find out about the history of their used vintage Airstream from the Big Red Numbers.

The club used to (not sure if they still do) provide an informational package that shipped with each new Airstream. Some dealers promote the club and others do not.

As a National Caravan leader I would add that having the numbers on makes managing everything including parking easier.
