Ya know, as much as I've seen the Rocky Mountain rally on the forum -- and as badly as we'd love to be able to hitch up and go (it's only a hundred miles or so from here!!) -- I sure hope that somebody takes a bunch of pics and writes up a nice report on the rally!#$%@!

I just finished refurbishing my BIG telescope, so I'm going to bring it along in hopes we have clear skies at night. One more activity for the night-owls
I have a Bushnell Computerized Star Locator (model 78-7830) (entry level) I bought for myself to start to learn on. It's in "sort of" pieces "sort of" in the box. If I bring it, will you guys help me put it together?
Astronomy is something I always wanted to be take a bigger interest in, and as soon as I bought the telescope, for Christmas last year, I had a BIG family emergency regarding my handicapped son and his residential placement.
That problem has been prety much all-consuming, but is much better in hand and under contrl now, which is a big reason why we CAN go to Colorado for the Rally.
Good for you, hopefully a rally will be a nice relaxation after a stressful year. We have also not gotten out much this year because I've been busy handling my late aunt's estate. It's been tough, so I'm looking forward to this little adventure to Colorado.
I'll be glad to help you figure out how to put your 'scope together. Sounds like fun! I find astronomy is a great way to relax in the evening. After all, you can just sit out under the stars with your favorite beverage and claim that you're actually 'doing' something! What could be better than that?
Hey Shari (and all you other Colorado bound forum members)...I know that the Open House is from 1-3:30 on Sat. but if I can't help myself and show up early (w/family in tow), will you boot me out. There are so many of you coming and I want to meet, greet and thoroughly inspect (I mean enjoy~~~~) every one of your babies-please!!!!

Friday is the Chili Dump, Saturday is a catered dinner, Monday is our night out on the town...that just leaves Sunday for you. I'm sure someone will have a grill going...we have our Road Trip grill we will use and I think I recall the campsites having them...can't remember for certain though. If you need to lighten your load, leave yours home...

The Public Open House is from 1-4 on Saturday...the morning is for rally participant's workshops & demos. Some folks won't be at their trailers or have them ready to receive visitors before 1pm. We really would appreciate it if you don't come early, but if you must we won't kick you out...
No matter what...you'll find the time allowed won't be enough...I even feel that after the whole 5 days!

I wish we could bring "Mini" for the WHOLE 5 days!! Obligations on both the Fri. before and the Sund. after prevent it for this year. Oh, well, what will be will be and I know I will enjoy whatever I get to.

That phrase blood, sweat, and tears.... you may sweat, and may shed a tear from time to time, but blood should NOT be involved, although I know it's inevitable...
