Barry,
What you see in the pics is the 'inner circle'...just a collection of you and, say, 100,000 or so other friends(X25K)...there you will find yourself looking out your window into your neighbor's...4CU will set up on the outer fringes, as is in keeping with our reputation, where your worst worries about looking out the window might be seeing a TTQ wander by...(X1)...
Coyotes, a few bugs, thorny/spiky vegetation...the reptile population usually doesn't show till late April.

Barry,

Depending where you are in the Calif. desert. You can see Big Horn Sheep, Deer, wild mules (known locally as Mojave Moose) Mountain Lions, Bobcats, coyotes and of course rodents and reptiles.

The desert is truly "An ocean with it's life underground. Sit quiety for 30 min and wildlife erupts around you.

The most amazing sight is when for a few short days most years the desert erupts in bright vibrant colors. The ground is carpeted in itty bitty flowers of all colors and all the drab colored plants just peacock in technicolor. Amazing.

Come on down and I'll show it to you.

Milo

Oh what a shuttered life I've obviously led. And no wonder I have moss on my back.

Yep, gotta get there. And I'm real good at sitting still for 30 minutes. 31 not a chance, but 30 you bet.

I have heard that the desert is as alive as anywhere else but in a very different way. I have memories of our trips as kids (in an SOB regrettably) but we were never in any one place long enough to actually see anything, and Quartzsite wasn't on the program.

A few obstacles to overcome but we are working on heading that way.

Turkey operation...?

Richard&Jan,
Should we bring another bird?...and if so, what size?...(we don't have a pot big enough to fry anything but a steroidal chicken)...

We're almost packed...all we have to do is move stuff from the house to the home, put it where it belongs, stack both beds with the stuff that can't fit into the already-packed storage, pile the rest under the dinette or on the couch, and a few other things forgotten till departure time...like cramming the toad, loading the dog, and closing the door...we're practically out the door...won't take too long...gosh, this Christmas/Quartzsite thing is gonna be so neat!!!...Good thing I didn't plan on a Thanksgiving rally...
We're aiming for a Wednesday departure...still waiting for Tracy's doc release, but hopeful. SNOW might be a factor...don't have chains for the MoHo, figuring that if I need them, I ain't movin', less gravity has other ideas...
WE'RE ALMOST THERE...WHERE ARE YOU GUYS...?

I think a second bird might be a good idea. I think my fryer can handle up to 18 pounds. We could just throw the second one in after the first is done. It only takes about an hour to cook one, so it should not be a problem to cook two. Worst case is we will have leftovers!

BTW, Jan make great Deviled Eggs...

LORDY! This almost is sounding like...well...a RALLY...did anyone invite those 4CU folks?
I'm gonna have to buy at least two rolls of CRIME SCENE tape to hold down the area...soon as I find a...cough,cough...CRIME SCENE...'course, once the rally gets underway, the locals will probably provide it for us(they heard that Milo and Kevbo were coming...)...does anyone have a spare set of handcuff keys?
Barry, uhm...how fast can you arrange bail for...well...a few(COUGH-dozen) disturbing-the-whatever bauxiters...?

P.S. Wanda will be caravanning with her not-really-brother brother Mr. 'bo. Fair warning.

Bam,

Just looking at that picture makes me grab for a t'killya bottle.

I'm gonna start calling Ron. Disco Stu.

Scrap,

Don't worry brother, Kev and I have clean records. We never get arrested but if we do. Barry already has the name and number of our Bailbondsman and our team of Attorney's.

Well to be honest Disco Stu I can always find a reason and an accomplice. I guess I'm just lucky that way.

Why fight it? There's a whole lot of fun waiting for you. Just go West on the 10.

We'll save you a spot.
