Trap Pond State Park - Sept. 20-23, 2012

This is the annual WDCU Rally at Trap Pond State Park near Laurel, Delaware. As usual, it will be an informal gathering of Airstream friends and family. This is a buddy rally, and all are welcome. We love to meet new Airstreamers.

There's lots to do at Trap Pond. It's a quiet, beautiful park with boating, kayaking, hiking and biking trails. Pets are welcome. There will be a pot luck on Friday, and we plan to do the Deep Fried Turkey and Rally Fries thing on Saturday. Just bring a side dish. Happy hours are are early, and often.

Make your reservations through the park. Our group will be centered around "A" Loop, near the pavilion.

More information, and the registration form can be found at our WDCU site:

MPJ,
We've been all over, and Trap Pond remains as one of our favorites. Please feel free to join us at the rally in September.

I hate to ask, but when you say Buddy Rally... No pressure to join back up? Just camping and visiting with much beloved friends? If the answer is yes, yes, we would love to come. If it will make anyone uncomfortable, we will pass.

I can assure you there will be no pressure from the rally hosts, and we would really love to see you and your family at Trap pond. "Just camping and visiting" is what this rally is all about. Don't know if you've ever been to Trap, but I think you'll like it. Hope to see you there.

BTW, the Bash was amazing.

I'd love to go but I'll be over at the Delaware Seashore State Park, camping there so I can go fly kites at Sunfest in Ocean City...

Well, if you get a chance, stop by. It's not that far from Delaware Seashore, and we'd love to meet you.

Thanks!

I double checked the map today to make sure I didn't make a mistake booking at the DE Seashore instead of Trap Pond. It's an hour to OC from Trap Pond and a half hour from the DE Seashore...

I'll mention it to my wife, she might have time to stop by Trap Pond while I am playing at the beach...

Frank,

This is Jim from the BASH. Great to see you might go! We're strongly considering going to this (need to clear it with the CEO), and my girls would love to see your girls again.

I'll bring cocktail fixings and my Hymn for Her CDs... ;-)

Jim

It is on the calendar, look forward to seeing quite a few of those attending...

Not to highjack, but, were you putting in some kayaks in Rock Creek Park Sunday?

Fantastic! I just got the OK from the CEO, and better still, she will likely join us. Even better, she's agreed to bring pies! Coconut Cream, right? We will bring extras again for potlucks.

I'll get my registration in shortly.

Cheers,

Jim

I have a question for those that have been... the site info says 50 amp. Does that mean it is a 50 amp only plug? Is a 30- 50 converter needed or is there a 30amp plug on the post?

There are 30 amp plugs at each site, Frank. Most of the group should be centered around A Loop. Looking forward to seeing you and your family.

All set, just reserved A11 at the campground starting Friday. Also mailed in my WDCU rally registration.

I'll pack my outdoor movie setup, perhaps we can host a kids movie night at dusk.

Cheers,

Jim

Mrs. SilverRanger will try to get out something in the way of an agenda this evening. Basically, Thursday will be happy hour and then dinner on your own. On Friday evening, happy hour will be combined with potluck. Bring an appetizer, and/or your favorite dish. Rally Fries and deep fried hot dogs will be on the menu. Saturday will be a combined happy hour/potluck, and we will deep fry either a turkey, or chickens. Again, bring an appetizer and/or your favorite dish. Sunday morning, cafe' au lait, and home-made beignets, both from Cafe Du Monde of New Orleans. Coffee and rolls will be served at breakfast.
Looking forward to seeing you.
