Yummie....cream cheese. Too bad someone didn't say spam....

Balgrn...hope you can come!! You and the lamp post. I don't want to speak out of turn but sometimes campgrounds require the entire three day payment for holiday weekends or least that was the case for us at the wine rally. Anyone able to contact the host? I have trouble e-mailing him.

I hope you can do a partial weekend, but you could visit even if you can't camp. Right?

Can't get in for 2 days, so we'll be coming for the Day Saturday!

GREAT . We would really miss you and Susan. Besides, I always forget to take pictures. We rely on you to record our "good times".

(Contacted host today)

Per host,

"Partial weekend is fine, but full payment of $109 is due".

Just because

OK, nobody from our club has posted for a few days so I thought I'd get something going. Hey, Peegreen, are you going to this rally? WE hope so. We would miss seeing Lisa in her "jammies". We are working on the menu already but we have to go to a wedding in Buffalo NY the weekend before and we are bringing the trailer so by the time we get to see you guy's again we will be REAL experienced at towing long distance. Man, last year I was afraid to leave New England and now I can't seem to stay here.
How can you tell I've had two cups of coffee? I'm ranting!

Miss all you guy's, can't wait to see you!

Buffalo - that's a trek! The check's in the mail, the PJ's are folded and put back in trailer. The Webber came yesterday, put together, just need another tank and we're ready to go. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Lisa's working on her Tin Chef appetizer entry. Good thing it's during happy hour, voting is always more interesting if the judges are well hydrated.

Official Tin Chef Appetizer contest rules

Tin Chef Appetizer Contest

Calling all chefs…have you started heating up your grill yet? If you’d like to show us what you can do with a grill and a bag full of groceries, contact me prior to May 25 and let me know that you are interested in representing the NEU in the Tin Chef Cook-Off at the Region One Rally in August.

There has been quite a bit of interest in this Cook-off, so, to give everyone a chance, there will be an appetizer contest this month where each aspiring "Tin Chef" will have an opportunity to show off their culinary skills. I will choose two winners based on the results of the contest – one person to be the NEU “Tin Chef” and the second person to be the NEU sous chef. You may enter the contest individually or as a team of two people. Keep in mind if you enter as a team, your team can’t be split and you will be judged for the roles of “Tin Chef” and sous chef. The rules of the contest are simple – prepare an appetizer that uses cream cheese as one of its ingredients. Judging will be done on presentation, taste and originality. There are two ways to enter this contest:

1) Come to the Monadnock Rally at Seven Maples Campground and present your appetizer to the judges at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. Be sure to bring three copies of your appetizer recipe with you (one for each judge). Each contestant should plan on bringing their completed appetizer to happy hour at 4 p.m. Each contestant will be given up to five minutes to “present” their appetizer to the judges and the rally members and then will be asked a series of questions. Keep in mind, “presentation” consists of two parts – the first part is how the appetizer appears on its plate; the second part is the act that each contestant puts on to present their appetizer to the crowd. After all appetizers are “presented”, the judges will review the recipes, taste test the appetizers and score each entry based on presentation, taste and originality.

2) Request a mail ballot entry from me no later than Thursday, May 25. Please note that you may not use the mail ballot system if you attend the Monadnock Rally. If I don’t receive any mail ballot requests by 6 p.m. on May 25, the winners of the Tin Chef contest will be chosen and announced during the Monadnock Rally. As part of the mail ballot, you will be asked to include your recipe, a photograph of the finished appetizer, answers to a series of questions, and an essay of at least 300 words describing your act of presenting the appetizer. You may request a mail ballot by telephone, email or snail mail. Complete and submit the mail ballot entry to me by email or snail mail. Your ballot must be postmarked by June 15 to be eligible for the contest.

Send me a PM, if you would like more information or to let me know if you are interested in entering the contest.

Kitchen stadium is gonna be all a buzz. There will be no FeO2 (that's rust) chefs out there Saturday night. We'll all be winners 'cause it's going to be one awesome happy hour. I want to send an invite to Mario, Bobby and Masaharu. Maybe Alton will come; too bad he sold his Airstream (saw it on ebay - sent seller a message, no reply ) Food Network would be all over this. Did anyone enter to win the tricked out Airstream they were giving away last summer? I entered every day .

Needed to send a message to check out my avatar - hey, who's that kid?
