We are signed up. We will be cooking our own Bar-B-Que. Brisket or Pork Butt. Hamburgers are not BBQ, they aren't even ham which is another story and just as well. Did make a fanatastic ham soup from the easter ham bone this weekend. May be the best thing I ever made...

Hamburgers??? Who said anything about hamburgers? I believe the optional menu for Saturday night is a chicken BBQ not hamburgers. This is just a clarification for those easily confused like me!

Spoke with our hosts last week and they mentioned that the Chicken BBQ was not going to happen because the campground isn't doing it that night. He mentioned that not many had signed up so he thought it best that we bring our own and grill together that night. We should clarify this when they get back.

Hurry to get your registration in, as there are only 25 days left to sign up! Per rally host we have room for 8 more sites , but........ we can fit in more rigs if we daisy chain the rigs.

Okay..now I am confused. Saturday night is potluck? Sunday night bring your own and eat together? My plan is to eat over59's brisket, pork or whatever....hehehe.

I just spoke with the rally hosts and have confirmed that you have it correct -- Saturday nite is potluck and Sunday night is grill your own.

After last weekend and all the electrical problems at Salisbury I don't want to have to worry about electric or water pressure issues. It's no fun to have to run outside and reset the breaker when it's cold out and I know Memorial Weekend we'll want to run our heat pump at night so I'd prefer not to daisy. Sorry

That doesn't sound like a good turn out, esp for a busness meeting. Prehaps it's being a Holiday weekend. Did I mention that we traditionally smoke butt on that Holiday.

We'll daisy chain, in fact we will even do without hookups if it means we can accomodate more members at the rally.
We got a new converter and high tech batteries installed when "The Tube" was restored so power will not be an issue for the few days we'll be there. We can fill our fresh water tank once we get to the campground and run our propane furnace instead of the "heat strip" on the AC unit.
When we are not attending rallies we mostly "boondock" in our Airstream in State or National Parks, so no hookups are no problem.

Looking for a WBCCI Unit filled with fun loving folks to camp and travel with in the New England area? Well, you've just found it:
Many people have shown an interest in participating in the upcoming Region One Tin Chef competition so we have decided to hold an appetizer contest to decide who has what it takes to represent the New England Unit in the competition. If you are interested in trying out for this competition, you can do it in one of two ways: 1) attend the Monadnock Rally and present your appetizer during happy hour on Saturday night or 2) if you can't attend the rally, send me an email or note with details about your appetizer (i.e., ingredient list, means of presentation, and a photograph of the finished appetizer).
There will be more details forthcoming in the next edition of our newsletter, but for those of you who want to start your planning early, I wanted to let you know about it now. The only rules of this contest are: prepare an appetizer that has cream cheese as one of its ingredients. You will be judged on three things: presentation, taste and originality. Good luck and we look forward to taste testing all your creations!
