Was in Corpus Christi last year, but missed (last minute) the Rally at San Antonio (300-mile round trip). Now in Beaumont (200-miles r'trip), so hope to come over Saturday for Open House. (We live just off 105, ha).

A local put together this site for Beaumont natives (weather); takes in Conroe:

GOLDEN TRIANGLE WEATHER PAGE

This is the rainiest part of the state (Beaumont averages 60" annually; the state averages just about 32"). Cold to the bone is correct: 40F-50F, overcast and a mild wind is enough for long-johns that day.

Soldiermedic..

Say Soldiermedic, do you have any time for a leak detection Saturday afternoon? I have a Safari 30 that has a pesky only when trailering over 50mph in the rain leak. I think it is at the front beltline, but your pressurizer test would do the trick!!

Hoping you have internet access on the road!!

We have had a blast at our first Rally! Lake Conroe/Houston North KOA in Montgomery, Texas is awesome. I LOVE that they have dog parks so my furkids could stretch their legs. Seeing all the Vintage Airstreams has given me tons of idea and I can't wait to get back home and work on our own. It's been great meeting all sorts of friendly, informative, interesting and (a little bit) crazy people. We will be back next year!!

I arrived home about 15 minutes ago to the cold and snow I have tried to escape for the last three days. Yesterday's weather was fantastic, and 87MH tried to buy the top prize again with his 50's diner serving Coke Floats and mini sliders. Dennis...I never know what to expect from you, but I know it is always over the top.

Many thanks to everyone who had me leak test their trailer. I was surprised by many things I saw.

Extra special thanks to RichHog for taking me to the Rally from the Airport, and to TX Toaster for hosting me in their trailer for the event.

Steve

although we didn't camp, Jennifer and I took the kids out on Saturday. the morning was gray and cool, but it turned out to be a great afternoon. We were able to meet some really GREAT people! Thanks Dennis for your most excellent hospitality! We loved the vintage trailers that we there and thanks to those who shared them with us. We saw many things that got us to thinking about the direction of our Overlander. We look forward to getting our Aluminum Bungalow out there...

vintage Rally Best of..

There should be a category for "Best of Showmanship" which would have to go to Dennis. The 50's Diner was over the top and for us hungry Streamers that got to venture outside it was great fun.

RICHHOG
After winning peoples choice for the past two years Dennis opted out of competition. Dennis started a trend at last years rally of giving a party atmosphere to Open House which just makes it more fun. I believe this trend will be even more expanded in future rallies.

Thanks for a great rally

The cold weather did not stop this from being a very great rally. All of the seminars and social events and dinners were very good. The open hose on Saturday under blue skies and warmer weather was a big hit with a steady stream of people viewing the Vintage trailers. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to pull all of this together and make this one of the best rallies around. I am looking forward to attending again next year.

Hi everyone, this was our first airstream event and we just wanted to say thank you for all the help and encouragement we recieved. We had such a great time at the rally and were surprised by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. I guess you could say this was our "first rodeo" and we had a blast!

Thanks!

Thanks to the organizers for a great rally. A special thanks to all who presented trailer seminars and those who showed vintage trailers on Saturday. My head is overflowing with ideas for an upcoming project.

Will there be a Texas Vintage Airstream rally in 2011? I have not seen anything posted.

Thanks
