Looking forward to see y'all in Santa Fe! Sign-up and get your park reservations so everybody has a head count for food etc.

Ye ha, this is going to be a party.

Howard,
We (Marc & Carol Hammond) are planning on coming to the rally. We reserved our spot with the 4CU group at the campground yesterday. I will fill out the registration form and bring it with us if that is okay. I noticed the last day to register was May 28, so I will bring out rally fee and the form with us unless you tell me to do something else. Looking forward to seeing you and the thirty plus airstreams on Thursday or Friday. Marc

Fires around Santa Fe

How is the fire and smoke affecting the rally plans?

We've been watching the news reports and have concerns for air quality and/or getting burned to a crisp.

Do ya'll have an update?

Extremely, completely doubtful that you'd get burned to a crisp in Santa Fe! The fire is about 10 miles north of Pecos, which is about 25 miles east of Santa Fe. The "backdoor" coldfront from yesterday may cause some temporary smokiness in the Santa Fe area, but we'll almost surely be back to our more usual west winds, pushing the smoke eastwards, away from Santa Fe.

Meanwhile, watch for fantasmagorial sunrises!

There are currently two forest fires in the Santa Fe area. I watched the smoke plumes last night from midway down Cerrillos. At my place on the north side at high elevation, the winds were blowing steadily with lots of gusts all night long. This mornings 20+ mph winds are not helping the fire fighters.

Hi from AZ/ATL. . .So much for making Santa Fe ! As some of you know, we recently moved from ATL to AZ & still have 2 houses in ATL. On Memorial Day, I made a deal to sell one of them (let me have an AMEN) & I'm 'takin care of business all this week. So I hope y'all have a great time, wish we were there & promise we'll make a 4CU rally yet. Be safe out there, Craig

Jan and I wish we could be there this year, but we left the area several weeks ago. We are currently camped in Grayling, MI at Mike and Betty's house.

Have a great rally!

Craig/Kathy (RamblinManGa) and Carroll/Paula (Kingfisher24) ... totally bummed that you all are not going to make the Santa Fe Rally! We were looking forward to finally meeting the GA transplants, and seeing the Kingfisher bunch again in their new rig.

BUT these things happen. Safe travels and good luck on everything! Next time.

Just a few days to go before the start of the rally! Marc and Carol, I have you on the list. Carroll & Paula, Craig & Kathy you will be missed but we will see you by another campfire sometime.

We drove through Pecos today - you could see the smoke from the fire and it was drifting East away from the Santa Fe area. NM63 is closed due to the fire - which is burning way up Pecos Canyon.
