We will be coming also. Would need to strip the paint from the canoe before it can be polished.

Julianne, if I can get you to paddle me around the lake in my canoe, I can have a Booze Cruise...
Louis~ Sounds like a hell of a plan (not). Janet is row master I vote her in as cruise director!

lets see if i strap this here, and that there, and the dogs get in the back, and the axle gets here, and i can get her put back together in time and the liquor store doesn't burn down between now and then, and they got my check, then it'll be spring break at the lake!

If you are making the trip down, stop at the food co-op across the street from the Safeway and see if you can talk Kerry and Dave into making the trip as well.

BTW, we love your town. We were there for the RMVAC rally in 2008 and 2010.

we plan on coming down we're very excited about it. i just hope that axle gets here in time! dave and kerry are the ones who told us about this group. they won't be able to make it. they will be in pa. i think it was. don't know if you've heard but they're closing the ploughboy.....it's a damn shame ,but they found it too difficult to do business in this little black hole we call salida

hey guys i could use a little help. we're heading down for the rally from colorado, is there any good places to camp for the night around red mesa or tec nos pos or mexican water? we don't need any hook ups or anything like that just a decent spot to cop a squat for the night.

Not a lot around Tec Nos Pos, but if you can keep going until after Kayenta, you turn off the main road and go to Navajo National Monument. Pleasant camping, *free, no reservations, no hookups, clean bathrooms. And gorgeous environment!

Lynn

*I saw a note someplace that the Navajo Nation may start charging for camping at Cottonwood (Canyon de Chelly), so I assume they may be considering it for Navajo Nat'l Monument as well. No solid word either way, yet, though.

thanks lynn i did find the navajo national monument my only worry about that was it might be full when we get there then we would be screwed. i'm thinking i would probably be o.k. this time of year but with the dogs and a fidgety co-pilot i don't want to take the chance. anyway i found an r.v. park in bluff utah that i made a reservation at....better all the way around for keeping the peace

We have stayed at the Cadillac Ranch RV park in Bluff and found it to be a very nice place. The owner passed away last year and they might be going through some changes.

There is a pretty good steak house a few blocks away...

Oh, Bluff is a great place, too! Eat at the Twin Rocks restaurant.

There is an RV park further on at Tuba City. It's just a small one, nothing special, located behind (and run by) the motel that's located just to the right of the restaurant and the Tuba City Trading Post on Main Street. And the restaurant does a good Indian taco!
